The Miura Giken - Miura Craftsman World - MCW - Custom Option Thread

If you look very closely, the standard option is more upright in the toe portion compared to the exaggerated round look on the A1 option. You have to really look at them back and forth for a bit haha. I was going to go for them smaller face option but I think that will extend production time by a lot… will update once my order goes through but here are the specs I’m choosing. PS- this is just a spec list from one2one who no longer sells to US, I’m just using their site to get this spec list.

I chose a few standard options which I might change. Will also likely change from the turquoise. Hopefully I can get this done. NOT going to be cheap lmao

Thanks. I thought I may have been seeing that too. I could also be convinced they are the same picture haha.

I found it interesting that one2one doesn't have the weight option on their website. I'm assuming the swingweight option is achieved through the total club build process (tip weights, counterweighting, etc) as opposed to adjusting headweight.

Does anyone know how they do the loft-bounce relationship? When you bend a club weak, that adds bounce. So if I request 1* weak from standard, will I also have an extra degree of bounce from standard? Or does MCW do those independent of each other?

You need to take the loft/bounce correlation into consideration when designing. The 1 to 1 ratio does apply.

1° weak is 1° additional bounce

1° strong is -1° reduction in bounce

Even in the MCW process they are NOT independent.

You can take this info to the bank. It is straight from the horse's mouth. I had the same concerns when I went through the process.

Good luck!

So if i were to get bent 1 degree strong and add 1 degree of bounce, would this even out?  There is an option to add bounce aside from the lie option. Also, does anyone have info about the sole? I've heard that the double cut sole is ideal for players that take a larger divot because the club bottoms out and gets out of the turf easier. That was a take away from another japanese club brand that i found in a forum so it could be totally wrong.

Any info helps! Thanks

So here is an update for everyone on the fence about ordering MCW from Japan.

Due to the influx of orders and the high demand, in conjunction with Yuka Saso winning the us womens open using TC-101.

Miura Giken is suspending all orders, both stock and MCW as of July 1 all the way till Sept. 30

If you place an order before July 1 they will make your clubs during that time period and you will have them in September.

They are doing this to not compromise on quality

I think custom orders open again Sept. 13...

Unfortunately, I was told by multiple shops that Miura has urged them not to sell mcw sets overseas. Proxy is also an option, but can be costly and now very time consuming..

Um,

what are you talking about exactly? read my post again seeing as how you do not seem to understand, this has nothing to do with MCW sales overseas.

multiple ameblo blogs and miuragiken.com both have the article listed. miuragiekn is shutting down period. not once did I mnetion shops in Japan not shipping overseas. July 1 - Sept. 30. they are full closed due to too many orders.

I understand, I received this message as well from one2one. All I was saying was that we aren’t able to make custom orders regardless of the shut down period, so it is a moot point…

um yeah we are, I am in canada and can place a MCW order anytime I want...

moot point? the no MCW to overseas has been in effect since the beginning of 2021.

this new announcement just came out within the past week, not a single shop in japan can place an order from miuragiken as of July 1, this is for regular stock items and MCW.

you keep telling me info everyone knows about one specific shop (one2one)

Not sure why you’re upset? I understand it has been in effect for some time now? This is the Miura craftsman world thread, so I’m simply talking about It. All of us in here don’t know how to place an order because of the no MCW to overseas, would you mind sharing how you can do it anytime you want? Truly it would be helpful as I have been looking to place an order for a few months now.

I am not upset, but you keep bringing up not being able to order MCW for months now. that is not what my last post was even remotely about.

what I stated the other day, is there are no orders at all from miuragiken as of July 1, that are shut down, not for overseas orders, not for MCW orders. no orders period.

oh and i understand this is the MCW thread, who do you think started it and posted all the pics and info?

find a shop in japan, oh and proxies are not expensive or time consuming, a couple of the big ones charge a flat fee of like 500yen per item that is like less than $5USD. and they communicate in many languages, email one tell them what you want

but I do not use a proxy....

How can you get without a proxy?

just a person connection.

again a proxy is really simple and rather inexpensive, that is what the are there to do. i would not hesitate to use one if I did not have my own way of getting these.

if you go one2one they will send your order to a proxy to be shipped to you. it is way simpler to go through a proxy yourself.

take the options straight off the miuragiken mcw option page. one2one might not be current (i had to get him to add a couple of the top line options he did not have listed to his custom order page)

Does anyone know how the round option (A1) differs from Type-R (A3)? It almost looks like A0-A2 have a rounded leading edge (some heel and toe relief?) where the Type-R and Type-S seem to have a straighter, flatter leading edge. Maybe it's just my eyes...

Camber. That's the word I was looking for. The Type-R and Type-S seem to have less camber than the A0-A2 options

Yeah curious how to order from MCW these days in Canada. Tour Spec Golf proxied for me a couple years ago before Miura Global decided to be losers about not letting MCW be sold directly to consumer outside of Japan. Kinda annoying. I assume now just other proxy services that aren't TourSpecGolf? Does anybody have any recommendations?
