Missing Likes

This was mentioned in another thread but wanted to start a new topic for tracking purposes. It appears that a large amount of likes were lost in the migration (we know likes from V1.0 weren’t migrated the first time around, but likes from V2.0 are also missing with this most recent migration). Not a high priority in the grand scheme of site stability by any means, but I am sure many long time members would appreciate the recovery of past likes.

LOL, like going from Paris east around the world to New York, then you're all the way backwards, barely walking past the Left Bank, then you almost get to the Alps, then back to some pissoir on the Champ-Elyssees. Would be nice to keep things cumulative, but not a priority, so you march or die!

 

Site looks really good, hard to keep starting over in a lot of ways after many years, but we'll see how it plays out.  Gave the other version every chance and really didn't complain about it, so not going to start in on this one and will give it a chance as well.

 

Not checking in nearly as much and the "new" isn't inspiring more - I'm chalking that up to lack of Tours leading to lack of interest in said Tours and may be 2021 before I get my same interest level back.  We'll see what The Masters does for me, lol.  Interest in playing just as high, as always!

 

And don't get me wrong, this is the best golf forum and resource out there! I just try to roll with the changes.

Good grief.

 

"Likes" ? Post counts ? Seriously, who cares ?!?!?!

 

I can understand (slightly) the post count as a certain number of posts were required for messaging and posting in BST (Others ?) but otherwise ?

 

One could barely FIND the "Like" button on the previous board and IMO the vast majority of posters didn't even know there WAS one. The "points" on the previous board were made of of all sorts of things (Medals I think they were called). 1 year anniversary = 25 "points", whatever.

 

Now they are "Reputation Points" and I'll give a nickel to the first person who can tell me what the 4 "reactions" in the lower right hand corner of every post do to one's "Rep Points" (+, - or neutral) WITHOUT going through and testing them all - you're all golfers - you're on your honor.

Certainty not the biggest issue ever, but it was nice to have some longstanding "metrics" and sometimes gave you some insights.  Once they disappeared with the changeover, that was kind of the end of that, so kind of a spilt milk thing ever since that time, and I haven't seen a lot of angst over it, but I understand the question.

 

A couple of the new reactions kind of scare me, so I'm not trying them out!
