Ethnocentrists believe the US is the cradle of a republic, but alas, this is not true.  It was the Roman Empire as it pertains to western civilization, and if you are an American Historian, the Iroquois Nation of NY was used as the template for our fine constitution.  But what, dare I ask is the Cradle of all QBs, well it is a small hamlet at the confluence of the Mon, Ohio, and Allegheny rivers.  Add our newest NFL addition to the list of Montana, Unitas, Kelly and Marino?  Or do you add him to the list of Gradkowski and Batch, solid careers but never a true #1?  Or do you prefer to put him in with Terrelle Pryor and Major Harris who were much ballyhooed only to flame out as field general?  Or is it even worse, and he mirrors Tyler Palko's career?  In PGH, if you don't sling the pigskin as a kid then you are relegated to a life of eating lunch alone and watching re-runs of Lost in Space while the other kids stop traffic playing street football.

 

I have no idea who the QB is for Washington, and frankly, very few people care.  The NY Giants travel to DC to take on the mighty WFT just 5 short days after the election.  The city will be abuzz with activity.  The boarded up shops will be getting back to normal, the beltway will keep buzzing, and the WFT will keep losing.  I am picking the Giants to win based on a few things.  NYC was the Nation's capital before DC, and sadly for the WFT QB the bunker isn't accessible to athletes.  Giants +3.5

 

This one is a head scratcher for me.  How can AZ only be favored by 4.5 when the Dolphins are starting a rookie QB with only one start under his belt?  I think Tua has the goods, but not yet.  I see Tua running like a guy looking for an un-scalable fence to protect him.  The Phins aren't quite ready for primetime, and I believe the AZ is QB is.  Not to mention the Phins are traveling.  So give me the Cardinals and the points in this one.

 

The talking heads have indicated Zeke has quit.  The new blood from Steeltown might well be the starter, and the Steelers have plenty of film on the guy who got beat at Pitt and transferred to James Madison, one of the architects of the American Constitution by the way.  This is how I see the game playing out.  DiNucci, if he plays, it could be the Red Rifle depending on concussion protocol, is going to be looking for anything to get him out of the public eye.  He will be trying to hold Jerry Jones' hand, he will be audibling for the same un-scalable wall Tua wants, and hoping upon hope there is a bunker underneath Dallas Stadium where he can retreat to recompose himself in the face of the PGH rush.  So I don't even care what the points are, Steelers cover.

 

My home state had the most campaign ads of any state since Labor Day, I will be absolutely giddy when it is over and I can relax to Summer's Eve ads, an occasional ColoGuard ad, and the omnipresent Viagra ads.  To roll back the recliner and watch baby boomers in their outdoor bath tub, with songbirds along the porch railing, knowing with a phone call I can have the power of purple at my disposal.  I am just giddy.

I think it was Q who has said he wouldn't touch the big spread, but P3P isn't backing down.  It feels like a lot, but since I see the Cowboys scoring 10 points and the Steelers letting off the gas a little I can't change and go with the over.  On the other hand, the backup QB (can't remember who he is) is still capable of scoring points.

Clarify for me please P3P. Is that just the over 42 points as a pick, or is it the Steelers -13.5 and the Over as well making two picks?

Stock Rising Eagles in the East, They are getting healthy and I think the WFT defense is getting better as well.

Stock Rising "the raaaiders" per Chris Berman.  They play like an 80's east coast team and a lot less like a west coast throw the ball all over the field team.  They actually play better in bad weather. game

Stock Rising Tampa Brady is getting better by the game. Chemistry is everything

Stock Rising Steel Curtain...actually the Ravens manhandled them in the first half, but like all good teams with great Qb's they find a way to win in the 4th quarter. Advantage Ben in that game.

Yep I think Brady lobbied for Antonio Brown and he's going to eat like Wes Welker, Julian Edelman in the slot with Gronk and the studs on the outside. They have two very capable running backs and a really well rounded defense.  I can see a MaHomes/Brady showdown!

I would like to apologize to the commish for not putting up my top 5 teams of the season thus far. It is hard to get a post off down here in the basement, the best WIFI signal I am able to get is some crappy "van down by the river" WIFI that should be name Dalmatian,  it's spotty at best. It is almost like running off McDonald's WIFI really. But if the commish would have it, I still would like to participate in the "in-between the week" mini games. 

 

Pittsburgh- Performance isn't everything, their record is. 

 

Kansa City- One slip up against the Raiders, one slip down to #2

 

Seattle- Russ for MVP 

 

Baltimore- Lamar's legs only got him and the Ravens to 4th, maybe if had an arm he could have thrown himself into the top 3

 

Green Bay/ Tennessee- both have playoff caliber QB's, but the defense needs to stop Eating Breakfast at Tiffany's and return to form or be forgotten (poetically) like Deep Blue Something.
