From poop water parties to music parties, MT has it all.  My kids turned me onto Spotify, and since we have musicians in the house, we paid for the multi party Spotify because we think artists should be paid for their work.  The rabbit hole is deep.  Grace Slick warned about this when I saw Jefferson Starship in 1981, but at no point did I realize the musical abyss I was about to enter.  The Mrs and I sometimes try to maintain some semblance of shape, and we will lift weights, and we threw on "One More Rep" and Screamo ensued.  The refined listening of super old fat people was unimpressed and we quickly retreated to Abba and Enya because nothing says working out like some mellow tunes and weird yodeling.

 

Speaking of weird yodeling, I bet the Riccola commercial was filmed outside of Denver.  Not sure why, I just think that's the case.  Well, looks who's coming to the Rockies this weekend.  I got burned last time, but not this time.  In the thin air I see Tua ramping up his game and throwing the ball with a little more zip.  Word is, there is a 10% distance difference if you are a golfer.  Imagine how far that left arm will throw the ball.  I am taking the road team, and giving the 3 points.

 

Sartorial splendor is on the menu this week as well.  I don't think it raises to the level of "Dancing Queen" but it isn't as much of a reach as say... Belicheat.  The Patriots travel to Houston, a nice city, but they have been decimated by bad trades and drafts.  Cam is the original DeShaun, but without any backup, DeShaun is just playing out the string.  JJ is talking about, and I wouldn't be surprised if JJ is playing elsewhere in 2021.  Belicheat has all the game film, some practice film, and probably Dan Snyders spank bank films.  I see the Patriots neutralizing their primary threat, whoever that is, and winning by more than a field goal.  NE and I am giving the 2.5 points.

 

I think they call this a trap game for the 9-0 Steelers.  Second string QB, teal jerseys, and muggy weather just isnt a good recipe for the pass happy Steelers.  I was trying to come up with a song to represent the Steelers, and nothing came to mind, but I was recounting on my Spotify the TSOL song "Code Blue" which I do think signifies the Jags.  Yep, spotify has TSOL's whole catalog, and amazingly enough, they also have the whole Meat Men catalog.  Back in my ill spent youth nothing got a beer pong game going like the front side of We're the Meat Men and You Suck, and I fully expect BB to be saying something similar.  I am taking the big spread, and the Steelers go 10-0 with a 14 point win here.

It makes perfect sense, but at the time of the missive, i was focusing on the wonderment of Spotify.  The site is a treasure trove and good and bad music.  I will say, artistically it was tough to tie Enya into a football pick, but where there's a will there's a way.  On a completely different note, Grace Slick was a childhood crush, and the concert didn't dissuade me from her charisma.  Years later I saw Kantner play a solo concert and it was honestly the weirdest show I have ever seen, and then most recently I saw Hot Tuna which as you probably know involves Jack Cassidy, and it was rather droll.  David Bromberg had an epic throwdown and Hot Tuna came out a little lower energy.  So my recommendation, if Bromberg comes to your town, check it out, if Hot Tuna does?  Meh.

David Bromberg, I last saw him decades ago. Excellent concert in a small gymnasium venue. Remember opening group was a nine piece local band that absolutely sucked big time. Clapped anyhow. He had an interview I remember reading at the time saying he wished they had a hit song so they could buy new equipment and such.

N.E.           -2.5   Couldn't pick against them last week, and obviously good thing, so they reward my worthiness with a road win. Run it left, run it right, run it up the middle and Cam throws 12 passes.   

 

Cincy        +1.5   First time picking these gents. Rookie QB of the future has huge day. And Cincy rushes for like 17yds.

The Seahawks and their crappy pass defense come home to the empty confines of the newly named Lumen Field. Is that a stock we should buy?  I wonder how much it costs to have your companies name on a Stadium?  Do the shareholders get a vote on that? I think not. Back to football I am feeling a push on the -3 If I had to bet. I would lean Seattle because Wilson is desperate to get off the floor. But their pass defense is pathetic.  It is actually having an adverse effect on the whole team.  I do not think Seattle will hit their stride again until they get some DB's back. How can you say wild card team now?  Arizona is an enigma. One thing is crystal clear D-Hop is the deal! K. Murray is not yet a defined stud but working into it. Funny thing is Kingsbury is calling a more run heavy offense and Carroll is a run heavy coach who has actually taken the reigns off of Wilson this year. It reaped a lot of rewards earlier but with that crappy defense putting them in a hole and the lack of a solid running game without Chris Carson or Rashaad Penny the Hawks have forced Wilson to have to pass to receivers who are banged up either earlier with DK Metcalf and now with Tyler Lockett also the tight end Olson. They should play.  Third wideout Moore, could be a bigger factor tonight as this could be another air festival.  No crowd on the road is a big plus for the visiting team. One thing for sure is 58 is a lot of points! Other than Metcalf do these teams have a quick strike player like the Chiefs and Rams wideouts? Lockett banged up Metcalf gets Patrick Peterson. If Carson plays tonight I can see Carroll really going ball control offense to keep their anemic secondary off the field.  If Seattle can't get the Cards to bite on play action and respect the run then the Cardinals will have the ball more often than not.  You have to believe this is the game Wilson puts up 450 and 4 td's passing and 1 rushing.  But then again, I think Murray could hang 5 and 2 rushing td's. Hopkins and Kirk will eat tonight!

 

I can't tell you who is going to win. It's really tough to think Arizona is going to beat them twice!?  But that was a wake up call we are for real!  The Cardinals are for real this year! Kyler Murray is for real! And it's all because the Houston Texans are Dumb!

This is not an official pick but I think Arizona has a strong chance to sweep. I just can't pick against Wilson.  I am not a huge Pete Carroll guy either. He reminds of the hyper High School gym teacher who just loves jocks and smelly jockstraps.  And wants to be best buddy of the guy who won the President's Fitness Award.
