OK. So here I am.  I know everyone says they've dreamt of this moment since they were a kid or whatever.  I seriously did, though.  Like, I pretended I was giving this speech many times over, except t

Winter warrior golfer commish checking in. Fantastic day on the course. I started late morning and played until dark. I was back down in Landrum, SC. I caught a pleasant 55 degree sunny day. 36 holes

That completes the regular season around here, and it was concluded with a 5 picks regular season Sunday as something different! Commish is a little weary from the record keeping, but I am in the

Some reasoning that went into the selection of my picks above.

The Indy defense will be causing havoc and that will disrupt Aaron. The Pack is the second worst in the league in creating takeaways. Old man Rivers gives another solid performance with no picks.

Indy 24-17.

Andy Reid is 18-3 coming off a bye. That is the best currently. Yes better than Boston Bill ( currently starting Electric Cam at QB) .

Add in the drama of another Raider Covid mess mixed with the " we Chiefs are pissed at that bus stunt you pulled" drama. It's Mahomey for the money/pick jack.

KC 34   Raiders 24

bonus info

the current line in Vegas is KC - 8 1/2 .   It has moved 2 points since my posting Tuesday morning.

Gents the holiday season is upon us starting next week. I have something rather nice to share with all of you. I have been thoroughly enjoying this man's writing for a long while now. The author contributes weekly to an automobile auction/enthusiast website. The stories almost always intertwine cars and stories of road trips. The beehive is his wife. The author has lived all his days in the upper tier of the U.S. Places like Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. He is a fantastic story teller. This weeks tale incorporates a song that many of us old dudes around here know very well from our youth. I highly recommend you read all the comments that follow the excellent short true story.

It might hit a few of you like it did me right in the feels. Hooray for the class of 1979. Twas the commish's year don't 'cha know!

Sludgo, you sir are a magnificent storyteller.

Wishing a safe and happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

best,

touch

Lord, we don't need another meadow
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh listen, lord, if you want to know.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some but for everyone.

Is there a Doctor in the house!? I have a confession to make I was going to take the Seahawks with the realization that I couldn't fathom Wilson going 0-2 against the Cards losing at home.  And the damn Seattle defense came through just enough for my over to come up one TD short. Seattle's defense won that game for them by making Murray a drop back QB and he took punishment. But I felt like throwing caution to the wind with that outrageous over/under.

If the Vikings have one of the best running backs in the league.   How can I not lay 7.5 against a team, I know they are coming off a bye, and just when you warm up to the Vikings, Cousins will inevitably lay an egg. But Dallas can not stop the run so I will roll them bones on the men from Minnesota and take the chance with the hook and give it back to Vegas and say take your hook and shove it down Jerry Jones pie hole. Vikings - 7.5  " I might lose some but I am going down in flames of false convictions! And dammit it feels great!

This morning I woke up feeling some Redskins nostalgia, I think about the good times with our commish at RFK stadium, as we would trek down there and stop at the Hawk n Dove for pre game wake and bake with a Bloody or two before we headed to the crisp confines of the RFK stadium where there was a definite sell out of at least 90% Skins fans! The energy was that befitting any high energy sports event across the country.  The stands would actually rock, and the crowd was there to root, root ,root for the home team, not check their cell phones, not hang out in the luxury boxes, or the cigar bar watching the hogs and Joe Gibbs lead his team against the vaunted juggernaut in the NFC Beastly East on simulcast. Nope, we were all there to get looped and watch football! FedEx Field is no longer that venue and I couldn't care less to ever see another game there. Not so much because of the failures of Dan Snyder, not so much because of the name change, not so much because the failed draft picks of summers past. FOR ME it's that feeling that was lost by moving the team to Maryland and trying to park in DC paying the boombox hustlers of the 80's and 90's and hearing a DC ICon blasting as we walked to the shrine of Redskins games RFK in southeast DC. Passing the DC armory, and posting a parking spot in the stadium parking lot after scores of games where you would get a deal on a front yard special...Cue the Chuck Brown the grandfather of DC GO/GO! When I think back to those days and even the FedEx crowd was regaled by Chuck Brown he was the sound that set us apart from other locales.  The DC sound was an identity that you could recognize as soon as you heard that rhythm and beat. When a Riggins run would net a first down and one to five more yards after contact you knew that life was going to be good and the day would turn out ok.  It was all set up in my mind by that "Bustin Loose" beat!

In honor of a crisp cool November Day I will take the WFT -1.5  Go Team! We gonna bust loose!

Commish and I would be hitting a laundry basket of range balls into the Potomac at this point now! Fore!

Now if Zoltar isn't your cup of tea may I suggest a motivational speaker.

saturday night live snl GIF

Ol' Matt Foley must have been in the locker room Week One for the Washington Football Team. Down 17 points at half to the Shegals only to come back in dramatic fashion after a motivational halftime speech. Dwayne Haskins surely didn't give the speech at half in Week !, he hasn't been relevant since the Team drafted him. Practically gone now, Haskins reopened the once shut, locked, and guarded door of Alex Smith's career giving new material for another ESPN 30 for 30. Since Smith took the starting role from an injured Kyle Allen, he has amassed 2 300 yard plus games in his 2020 starts. The Bengals must be running a soup kitchen for opposing team's passing yards because they has given up the 3rd most passing yards to opposing QB's and next in line is Alex Smith. Now you might say well the Bengals have a franchise QB in Joe Burrow, this may be true but the kid is still a rookie and will, at least in this game, live up to his last name when the Team's defense keeps putting him in the dirt. Cincinnati offensive line looks like Santa as they are gifting Defenses sacks on sacks on sacks. Washington quietly is the 5th ranked defense in the league and top 10 in sacks. This is why you never give the Washington Football Team a credit card because they're always charging. With Joe Mixon now on IR, Carlos Dunlap in Seattle handing me that W Thursday and the changing of the QB guard in Washington is too much for the Bengals.

Washington -1 1/2

Chargers -8 1/2

Enough said.

P.S. Nick Chubb that extra yard for 6 would have still gave you the W but no I got Salt and Pepa instead

I don't know how many of you watched the Packers game, but oh my what a thriller that game was.

I had Indy - 2 1/2.  Lol

I went from 14 points down 2nd quarter to a win and cover by .5 in OT.

Just one amazing turnaround involving my second pick of the day.

Thanks for the risen from the ashes to a W selection nonsense.

     taking it though    😄

The stats department just handed me something.

It reads that one participant in this contest has been on a slight tear in the month of November.

Over the last three weeks greenmachine has gone 7-1-1.

3-0   2-0-1   2-1

He's probably hammered on account of the SKins, whoops burgundy and gold, got him a win today and he cashed a big ticket.

Nice work of late sir.

Pin on funny

I also would like to thank doctoro for his description this week of the fine times he and I had attending games at RFK Stadium during the Joe Gibbs era.

Wherever it was, at the stadium, a bar, a friend's home, or our own townhouse we always had the Redskins party going on Sunday's. The energy towards the team then was very special all over the D.C. area (sad the situation is the opposite now).  Awesome times and fab memories I will always remember and cherish for sure doctoro. I am so glad we had so many blasted great times during the Washington Redskins Excellence Era.

Yes we often did bring a couple of clubs and whack range balls from the parking lot into the river!

Average BAC on a Sunday for us back in the day.......................1.8 ! !

   ahhh    youth

sigh

Joe Burrow. Hope the guy is okay and not out for a while.

Was leading in Skins game 9-7 mid-way thru 3rd quarter and he's carted off. Replacement  3/10/1  30yds 4sacks. Yeah Winninggggg.

Always thought Pats game was going to be tough. Got down close to score TD twice and two sacks made it 2/18. End of TD. FG instead.
