NFL Pick 3 Weekly/ TOUR Picks Weekly

A new football season is right around the corner (probably/we so hope) and once again (4 years running) I will do a season long NFL "3 picks" contest. 

I will be restricting the contest to 15 participants ( because that is all the workload I can handle). I will first offer the 10 players from last year spots and then add 5 new participants. If you want to participate please post that you "are in" on this thread. Please remember this is a weekly commitment from week 1 through the Super Bowl. No flaking allowed. lol 

Besides myself the other players from last year were  (their final records shown including the playoffs)

How the contest works.

I post the Vegas line for the week's games on Tuesday morning. Each participant makes 3 picks from that week's line that I have provided prior to the kickoff of your selected games. I will keep the standings of the contest and post them weekly. There is Not A Prize for the winner. You do win bragging rights though! In years past this season long contest/thread has provided many enjoyment all fall long and into the winter. It has been a laborious task for your self appointed commissioner, but I do get enjoyment out of it each season.

 

So how about it HigherG, Adam, Jearbear, NCLancer, doctoro, Pete3putt, Qqq, knockitclose, and Chuntsman, you guys want to go again this season? 

Remember an additional 5 participants are welcome to join in to make a total of 15 players. Please just post on this thread that "I'm in" . The new five will be allowed in on a first come first served basis.

I have provided a link to last season's action if anyone needed further explanations or a refresher course.

 

I know many of you are ready for some football, and especially this Covid year. Ugh

Well, Covid hasn't been good to the country, but it sure has helped the golf game.  This is the year of P3P, so look out.  I have consistently rested my laurels on the Mendoza Line of picking as I sort through the culture wars of day.  My handicap which fluctuated in the 4-7 range is now bopping between 1 and 2, I am playing to it, and I can only think it will transfer to my predictions this season.

Ok good to see we have all survived this far. What a year! It’s imperative that we use each week as a do or die situation. No long shots for me this year. When the season could get interrupted on a moments notice. No bubble and a lot of big loads of meat facing each other in hand to hand combat for 3 hours. Not to sure how that is going to pan out. Offensive lineman would be at a higher risk I would think. The team who wins the super bowl will have the most Covid Free lineman. Meaning I doubt anyone can predict a champion this year.  
All that said we can rejoice for now. And now is all that matters these days.

Apparently the season is upon us.  Usually about this time the Stanley Cup is over and baseball is winding down, but not this year.  In case you haven't heard, the US is in the middle of a virus pandemic.  So in a weird year, all three sports are going on at once, and in fact, I think basketball is still going on as well, but I can't confirm or deny any of these reports.  Though I did see Lebron in a dancing bear onesy, and immediately thought of Bill Walton and Doc Ellis and a myriad of recreational drugs.

Philly is heading down to the dumpster fire that is DC.  Well, not technically DC because the stadium is outside of DC, but it has been revealed Snyder is actually more interested in the physical endowments of the team cheerleaders than the actual team itself.  The Eagles have hired on a new offensive coach whom I believe will re-create the magic of Carson Wentz and their running game.  In a "shower with your clothes on ladies" salute I will pick the Eagles going away.

Sticking with dumpster fires and physical assets, let's move onto AZ.  Kliff may have dodged a bullet as I believe Holly Sonders just had another plastic surgery to install a third eye in her head so she could help her new man when he is permitted back into the casinos.  I remember telling a friend back in the 90's I thought Holly was the most attractive woman on TV, now with all the work she has done, she is unrecognizable.  Color me unimpressed, but if she is happy, I am happy for her.  None of this matters since Jimmy G, who has undergone no plastic surgeries to my knowledge takes the stage and runs away with this.  I pick the Niners in a possible rout.

The Steelers head into NJ to take on the mighty Giants.  Daniel Jones quietly had a very productive fantasy year, but the team stinks.  Ben is back and will sling the ball all over the yard like he is apt to do, and frankly, the OL sucks.  If Ben sees week six from anywhere but the sideline on crutches, I will be surprised.  If he serves up 3 INTs this weekend, I won't be surprised.  The beauty of his INTs is, the Giants are so bad, it won't matter, at least they did last year.  The Steelers are favored by 4, I think they do it as the team welcomes back BB, but I doubt they win it going away.  So reluctantly, the none endowed OL dumpster fire of the Steelers covers the spread.

Off 600,000 members, I am surprised only 8 will try their hand against the Vegas odds makers.  Perhaps Touch is too intimidating?

Remember, when golfing, start with the Grateful Dead, it clears the mind until the booze kicks in.
