This officially is Show Me Something Week Starting with the mean something games.

Training wheels are off Tua, "not spelling that name." Show me something". Haven't seen much from you yet. Use your legs and make some plays.

 

Show Me Something Kyler Murray...yeah yeah yeah the miracle throw that D. Hopkins made a miracle catch on. Outside of that I am not all that impressed yet!  He's got a motor, but the acumen is somewhat lacking at this point. Not Mahomes for sure.  "Show me something and beat those Rams!"

I have a pretty good idea how it went yesterday for many of you. In the late afternoon you were running last minute errands all over town for the wife or girlfriend. This tearing about was in  preparation for the New Year's Party that many of you hosted. You had to help that cute girl of yours wearing the Williams and Sonoma apron set up the McMansion for the guests. You set up the bar with all that was needed for the libations part of the evening. You carefully stuffed some olives with blue cheese and arranged them on the picks just so. You cut lemons and limes in uniform slices. You arranged your pride and joy charcuterie board for the final time. You had to have those wee pickles aligned like a pro. You wiped down the 6 liquor bottles and accompanying mixers. The little lady had you shuck 36 Blue Points. You planned ahead and had made your famous mignonette and cocktail sauces earlier in the week. The wife also had you make the olive tapanade and arrange the 5 types of crackers. The lady in charge had you brush Jake the brittany spaniel and stuff his plaid LL Bean bed into a closet out of sight. After all this fuss you wanted to open a bottle of that expensive wine that you had gotten a case of for the affair. You wanted badly to a enjoy a glass of the grape as you and the boss had it almost complete. The Queen told you absolutely no pregaming was allowed though. She knew you had a long evening ahead of you and forbid you to begin consumption early. The wine was to wait until the guests were in attendance. What was a hard working assistant to do when he found himself in that predicament ? I suspect many of you slipped away to the garage or man cave and took a couple of mini nips off your secret Crown Royal or Woodford Reserve bottles. Ahhh now we are talking.

About 9 your guests arrived. In attendance there was Mark and Jules, Teddy and Kim, Lee and Angie, Frederick (that french as^ho*8) and his hot wife Deirdre, Rob and Tracy, and Paul and Rachel. For hours you fine suburban couples laughed and told many stories. The wine flowed. You spoke of how covid has changed the world forever. The food received numerous compliments. The wine was very well received. The guests even raved at your arrangement of the little pickles. You and the wife knew you had knocked another one out of the park. At midnight you opened the Veuve Clicqout and filled everyone's flutes. The wife put out the chocolate plate next to the strawberries with whipped cream for the final course. The party carried on until just after 1 AM. All the couples finally left and you and the Misses cleaned up. It was a great deal of work but the two of you were rather satisfied in how the gathering went. She winked "that " wink your way and said she would meet you upstairs. You threw Jackson Browne's Prentender on the home's central Bose system and ran upstairs to that gal you love so much. That is how I believe a number of you put the wraps on 2020. 

Me too?   No it was not at all like that. Being that I am divorced and currently without a serious lassie I went another route. 🏌️‍♂️

 

It was 65 degrees in Asheville yesterday so I had to quickly shift plans and get some swings in. I made phone calls putting together a last minute foursome, and grabbed a tee time. I cut out of work 4 hours early. Yup I got out there with buddies in the warm air and got a round in. Heck we even played extra innings. The Pro V's were sent into the air, and the putts were breaking until dark.  It was a round enjoyed by all. Heck it was the first time I broke 80 in 2 weeks so I found my stuff again!!  I was crushing my drives all afternoon and experiencing that special confident state of mind that goes with being a driving machine/short grass middle man!  lol  We had some Bud Light Lime's going and I partook in some Christmas green as well. It was my hundred and twenty something round of the year yesterday afternoon gents.  I played the more rounds of golf in 2020 than I have in years and for that I am very very grateful. I didn't stay up until midnight as all that fresh air had me zonked out before 10pm.  Now in years past I was the guy helping my beautiful gal get it all together for the couples parties we often hosted on New Year's Eve . That was provided I didn't work. I tried to only do every other amature night as we called it in the business. I reflected back on those occasions in writing the post above. I have always very much enjoyed hosting couples parties. We semi retired Maitre'D's are rather decent at that sort of thing.  

Here is hoping all of you had a fine final day of 2020 and a cherished celebration of some sort last night.

 Wishing fellas you also have a great round with the boys in warmer air soon.

I also think it will be a true battle out west because with George Kittle back the 49rs are a far more potent team. I see the Seattle/ San Fran game coming right down to the wire. Cancelling Cleveland and replacing that pick with the 49rs.
