I would probably wish for a little easier search function, with the ability to filter between results better. An app would also be a huge plus.

We randomize all the number of posts and the #1 number on the top is the winner. Say there is 1,000 replies from members. We will randomize 1 to 1,000 using a website that has a randomizer. It scrambles the numbers and the #1 is the first place and the #2 is the second etc. If the winner has duplicate entries we count the first.

BOARD SOFTWARE

 

Upon listing of a particular thread, this software appears to give you THREE places to go since you LAST looked at that thread, "First Unread Post" (BOLDED star or "button" (ONLY IF a post has been added SINCE you last looked)), First POST in the thread (by clicking the TITLE) and LAST POST in the thread by clicking the "date" of the last post to the RIGHT of the thread name.

 

IF you, say, are reading page 7 in a 12 page thread and "re-list", I believe the software assumes you've read the entire thread and takes away the "unread" status so the thread no longer shows as "unread" (bolded).

 

BROWSER SOFTWARE

 

IF you use your BROWSER'S "Back" button/history's functionality, it should keep taking you backwards, even to where you last were within said thread, you only have 2 ways of accessing that thread via the board software - 1st or last post.

IMO pin giveaway threads like this to the top of the thread list.  I think this used to be done a while ago and I found it to be helpful.  Also I would set definitive end dates (as it seems to be arbitrary how long they run for) and and also pin winner announcements for a week or so.

 

Honestly I love this site and I think you all do a great job so this is just a tiny nitpick.
