Srixon z745 mid iron replacements

I'm currently playing z745 irons 5-P, with s300 shafts. While I really like the irons, I'm not getting what I need out of the 5 and 6. With the 6 the shot is lower but still very playable and my 180 yard carry club at high altitude (Utah). The 5 is much more worthless and results vary from 190-195 flushed (rare) to the common low bullets (worthless in to a green). I know the swing needs some work, but I'm recovering from a back injury and can't practice due to wear and tear. After 5 iron I go into a 23* 4 hybrid with good results.

I have messed with a 5 hybrid (26*) but I found the distance control to be spotty (spinny/short to low spin bombs) on decent strikes. The hybrid is an Adams idea super pro with a JAVLN FX I6 stiff shaft. Could these distance issue be caused by the lighter shaft? Chunky and offset aesthetics don't bother me, I just want to score better from 175 to 210 yards.

I'm debating on a few options:

1. Blend with a Srixon z545 or z585 5 and 6

2. Blend with a Srixon u45 or u85 5 and 6

3. Blend with GI distance irons such as Cobra F9. With this option I was thinking of blending lofts and not iron numbers so replace the 5 with an F9 6 and 6 with F9 7

What have you guys tried with success? What didn't work? Any other options I'm missing? Thanks

I'd blend with a z5x5 series Srixon iron, any of them would work just different look at address. Plus it's not hard to combo those easily. I play the 585s from 4i to 7i and I can get a ton of height from them especially off the tees.

I've played blended in every series since the 701/701 tours. I split at the 7 as that's where I consider my 'scoring' clubs to end.

Find some 545s and slap them in.

5x5 or maybe even a U45/65/85?  Just got some Ben Hogan Icons and I am good with 5-P but the 4 iron has been a little punishing at times so I ordered a BH UiHi 22* just for some added forgiveness... Hybrids are great but I have had more success at minimizing misses with more forgiving irons.   My backup set is a set or 745s and I will say, that 4i is MUCH easier than the Icon, but I'd look for a chunkier Srixon to add to the mix.

I played Srixons for quite some time. I really liked them but found that they were a bit too easy to overcook draws with for some reason which contributes to the lower spin and peak height. Basically, I think the V sole is fantastic for turf interaction and wish all irons had it, but with the width of the soles on the 45 series, you need to be able to put a good compressing strike on the ball. The 5 series will help flight it a bit higher, but they are also lower spin. The U series really get that peak height up and they don't have a V sole. If you're more of a picker and don't really compress your long irons I think this is a better way to go. I've played 745, 945, 545, 765, U45, U85, and 785. Only ones I didn't like were the 765. They all feel delicious. Srixon makes some of the best CBs around. As I write this I'm sitting next to my dad's golf bag up at the family cottage and he has a combo of U45, 545, and 745. I'd opt for help if you aren't getting proper launch for sure.

Thanks for the advice guys, my quest for some decent 5 and 6 z545 heads will begin today.  If anyone is looking to unload some z545s PM me.

@TigerInTheWoods    Because the z545 series is lower in spin did you find that you got more fliers out of these or was the low spin more characteristic of the z545 design and consistent?
