FYSA. My order spec sheet shows my Proto 3 wood shows a 15 gram, 2.5 and 2.5 weights installed. I ordered stock SW and length.

Post some pics when you get it.  Placed my order today as well.  Also went with Diamana s+ Ltd 70.  I’m excited to give it a go.

 

On a side note, just received my Proto driver and got it out for the first time today. Super impressed!  Hoping for the same with the fairway.  We shall see.

I got fit today at 2.5, 10 and 15 put in.  Head felt really good w/ the extra 7.5g’s.  I have my Proto driver playing at 213.9g’s (~7-8g heavy)

How did you like the Proto 3 wood? How is the launch and spin on that thing. 
 

Their tracking of a build on the website sucks. Screwed me on some wedges that were ready 3 weeks prior it saying it and now I called about some weights for my Proto driver and they said my 3 wood was ready on Friday. Could have used it yesterday. Geez!

Launch, spin, ball speeds were all similar.  Proto may have had a little higher ball speeds on misses, I had faster ball speeds w/ Gen2 overall.  Gen2 kind of feels the same no matter where you strike it, Proto gave feedback where it was struck on the face and I liked the sound better on the Proto.  I personally was hitting Gen2 better and stuck w/ it.

Disregard. I spoke to PXG twice today and the second guy really helped. He assured me the shaft I picked will be good for me. I’ll try it and see. He played one and really likes it off the fairway much more than the Gen2. That is what I need.

I have one of those swings that can get air on anything, even a 1 irons 🤣.  So both were easy to get off the deck for me 🤣

My phone fitter plays the Proto 3 wood and only plays it from

the fairway. He likes the sole and it keeps gliding thru the turf and launches nicely. I guess I will see this weekend.

My proto 3w will be here Monday at the latest. Hoping it’s here for the weekend to try it on the skytrak. 
 

went with the s+ 70g X. Never played a diamana or hit one before so we’ll see how the shaft plays or if I end up sending too much of my money to will peoples.

Ok, the Proto 3 wood was monster for me with my first round this morning. I have the stock Diamana S+ 70 shaft in it. Used it off the fairway 4 times this morning and it is money! Had good little bit of wind and it bored right through it. 
 

The feel of the face is so much better than Gen2 or Proto face. I love the little tingy sound and feels powerful. It is very long too. Big upgrade for me from the TM M4 AD DI I was using for years. Did I say it’s long? Had the stock weight setup with the 15 gram in the front. 
 

Sooo easy to launch off the fairway and rough. Never used it off the tee. This will be used off the tee a little more often that I am used to. I am very happy with the new face. I’ll be immediately getting a Gen4 driver with the new face on them. 
 

Great purchase and extremely happy with it.

ive got the 0211 3w first day it came out but haven't got to hit it yet still.... since I love my proto driver I ordered a 17* proto hybrid today.

Also ordered the metal wood kit to mess around with weights since I have a VA Composites Nemesys 90x coming for it

 

I do finally have some indoor range time tomorrow so ill see how the 0211 3w is but Im already tempted to just get the proto 3w

Like to hear about the Proto Hybrid when you get it. That will probably be replacing my Gen2 hybrid.

Once it comes in and I get that shaft in, ill let you know..... im not a hybrid guy so I dont have anything to compare it to but my plan is for this to be the more forgiving 17* option compared to the Srixon ZX utility at 18* I ordered also

Since I have 2 full bag set-ups now I can play around with what works for each spot

Crown is going to be more silver than white; my fitter said the online pics did not capture the color accurately. 
 

He also said Gen 4s, across the board, are going to be the best clubs PXG has made.

So spent some time with the proto 3wd today on skytrak. Launch was 11-13 degrees, ball speeds in the low 150’s (actively working to bring up), and the head is very workable. Fades and draws no problem. 
 

I have the diamana S+ Ltd 70g X flex and I surprisingly enjoy it. Feels much more lively than I’m used to but I think it makes it a tad easier to time. The proto feels awesome though. Consistently better numbers with it over my EF sub zero.

My Proto 3 wood was supposed to arrive on Monday, but this crazy a** snow storm we are experiencing in TX is nuts!  Who knows when it will arrive or when I’ll be able to take it out.

Feel ya brother...I'm in TEXAS too...Ordered Proto 3 on Monday and it shipped yesterday... Estimated Sunday delivery, but not crossing fingers, nor do I care... Becoming a self-made plumber while I wait...Thousands of people without water due to house pipe breaks, and plumbers are overwhelmed...I'll enjoy it whenever it does arrive...

I hear that.  3 of our neighbors had their pipes burst in the previous 2 days.  Water in their house and no immediate help outside of the fire department, if they can get to you.  We were fortunate to continue to have power.  Things should start to ease up tomorrow and through the weekend.  Waiting on golf clubs to be delivered at the moment just seems out of place.

Proto 3 wood was money during my fitting at PXG just now. I purchased over the phone, but hit it with a fitter and he would not change a thing.
 

I was fit into a Proto 5 wood and ditching the Gen2 hybrid. Fit into the same shaft as my 3 wood, the Diamana S+.

After 3 sessions with the 0211 3w im gonna move on from it. Has a very had feel at impact. There are plenty of strikes that feel like I absolutely hammered it but look at the numbers and its consistently slower than just about any 3w ive hit the past year. I have a SIM2 Max 16.5 that came in 5 days ago and the SIM2 was 3mph faster on avg

 

Once I move that and some other clubs im gonna grab the proto 3w

I have not hit it off the tee and I do know it is just a hair bigger than the Gen2, but not my much. Maybe the face is a little taller. Not as big as the 0211 though.
