Bag rubbing shaft

I am having trouble with my golf bag rubbing the stats of my driver and 3 wood. I have looked for a sock style cover but they don’t seem long enough to protect the shaft. The bag I use is a Titleist cart bag with 14 dividers. Has anyone had a similar issue and if so how did you fix it?

I spotted this issue with my golf partner’s driver and 3-wood...it became an excuse to get new clubs!!

 

You don’t seem able to get hold of the sock-type covers that are long enough to protect the shaft. The boxing-glove Callaway covers are totally useless, although the sock cover I have on my Big Bertha driver is just about long enough.

 

I have glued soft fabric material at the top of the dividers in my bags in the past that did the trick (I cut up old iron covers and just stuck them in the area that was rubbing the shaft). Hope this helps.

I did think about adding some softer material. Might give that a go.

I put some clear tennis racquet head tape on the shaft where it meets the bag.  Electrical tape also works on dark shafts.  Really not noticeable and neither peel off the paint.  
 

I use a big staff bag with no individual dividers.  I bought some foam pipe insulation with large enough diameter for a club to fit.  Sometimes have to trim to length.  It tears up In a few years from the grip going in and out and I just get another one for a few dollars.

My wife knits me new head covers every spring.  Extra Long necks.  They look great and solves the issue.

If your golf bag is rubbing your shaft, you are carrying it wrong. Try putting it on your back.
