I know this is WRX.  But have any “moderate” swing speed players tried the 55g Tour AD DI in either of these heads?

Would a 88-90 mph swing still be able to see any of the benefits of this shaft, mainly the stability.

It’s hard here on WRX or on youtube to get a lot of info for our ss, especially re shafts... Hope some ppl respond to

your question.

My local store does not have the TSi3 in 8 degree head. only the 9 and 10.  I currently game the 8.5 TS4.  I'm curious.. for those that have hit or been fitted in the 8 degree.. how does it fly compared to the TS3 or 4 in 8.5?  I'm hearing the 8 flies like the 8.5 but would like to hear more feedback please.

Thanks.

My exact setup. TS3 in 8.5º set to 7.75º. Was fitted into the 8º TSi3. Launch with the TS3 was 13º-14º, launch with the TSi3 was 10º-11º with about 300 less spin. It landed so much flatter and ran so much further than good strikes with TS3. Add that it looks better and sounds a million times better, TSi3 is a clear winner.

If true, the Titleist rep that visited our club Friday said JT is still testing and mentioned that he couldn't play the TSi4 because it wasn't spinning enough.  He said the 4 will be stupid low spin and even the Tour players aren't spinning it enough.

For the poster asking about shafts, according to our rep, he loves the Tensei Blue 55 for slower swing speeds.  He said he is getting incredible results with it and he also mentioned the Tsi1 is the easiest to hit driver they have ever produced,.

Any talk of release date for TSi1 and will it much more stretched back than the 2 head?

For those who have hit both what differences did you notice between the smoke black rdx 70 and the av white 65?

they are nearly identical in weight and torque and are both low/low.

any differences in balance point or noticeable feel differences?
I hit both shafts This Thursday at my fitting. I was swinging 104-105 mph with a pretty aggressive transition. I found the smoke RDX to lack any feel whatsoever.  For me, it was like swinging a telephone pole.  The AV white  loaded properly for my swing and felt great.  My suggestion is to forget everything you have read and hit them for yourself if you can.

I didn't hit the RDX 70, i hit the 60, which is actually a bit under 60 grams, and also hit the AV White 65. Both felt good and I didn't notice any significant difference. I am sure those that are better attuned to shaft feel than I would notice more difference.

With that said, I ultimately was fit in the GD XC-6 S.

RDX has a different kick point than the last few PX black shafts. It has a lot of feel, but every time I went after it it felt very loose compared to previous black and green PX shafts. Raw white was more in line with Ventus Black, new KBS wood shaft, and Smoke Green. White was more stable, and closer to my Smoke Green head to head numbers wise.

I was able to test the 3 and the 2 this past weekend.

Some thoughts:

TSi3 - I preordered this with FULL intentions of it being my driver.  Got to see it in person and man is it pretty.  Just a gorgeous driver.  Proceeded to hit it and I wasn't loving it.  It feels very good and I was hitting it pretty well but it didn't wow me.  I wasn't on a LM and was hitting into a wall, so there is that.

TSi2 - I was able to hit this one outdoors on an open range.  Hit the 10 with the RDX in 6.0.  From the very first shot.....I was purely impressed.  My order has been changed.  The forgiveness and consistency was absolutely fantastic.  Better still.....Titleist NAILED the shape of this head.  Thankfully it is nothing like the TS2 head.

Recently did a Titleist Thursday fitting for the new TSi drivers, last Titleist driver I gamed was a 913 D2.

A little background on me, mid to high hdcp player, 7i for me goes about 150ish. Been gaming a M6 10.5 with my old faithful Proforce v2 Reg flex, never been fitted for any club before.

I was fit into a TSi2 9* with the Tensei AV RAW White in 65g Stiff. Was hitting some absolute bombs with this combo, my misses were like a decent strike with my current setup and my good hits were dead straight with a draw (and I don't draw the ball at all). On good hits I was carrying around 230ish and totaling out at around 260ish, spin was staying in the low 2000's and the flight was really awesome.

Did hit a few different shafts and even hit the TSi3, but nothing came close to what I was fitted into.

Ordering this setup today, can't wait to hit it on the course before the snow flies here in WNY.

I was able to hit the TSi3 tonight at PGA Tour Superstore directly against my gamer with actual balls (TP5).  I was extremely impressed by the look and feel of the TSi3.  However, I was even more impressed by the ball speed.  I hit both my gamer (SIM) and the TSi3 quite a bit, and the Titleist consistently had higher ball speeds.  On average, my ball speed with the SIM was 172 -- with the TSi3, it was 176.  The consistency of ball speed on poor strikes impressed me more than anything --  my poor strikes with the TSi3 resulted in much better ball speed retention than the SIM.

Here is a really quick comparison of the TSi3 and SIM:

  • Look -- I love the SIM, but the classic beauty and timeless looks of the TSi3 won for me
  • Feel -- The TSi3 is much improved over the TS3, but I still prefer the duller sound of the SIM
  • Ballspeed -- TSi3 was faster on both center strikes and mishits
  • Spin --  I struggle with high spin, so this is always a super important for me. The SIM spun on average about 250 rpms less for me. However, I was using the stock Tensei Raw White 65x in the Titleist and a Ventus Black (Velocore model) in my SIM.  Considering that the Ventus is probably the lower spin shaft of the two, the TSi3 kept it really close.
  • Overall -- The SIM has been one of the best drivers for me, but I honestly think I may end up with the TSi3.  With how well I've hit the SIM, I'm not going to even consider changing until I've gone through a proper fitting and tested both drivers head-to-head on the course.  That said, the TSi3 impressed me significantly more than I expected.

I wanted to provide an update after testing the TSi3 head-to-head with my SIM on the course this weekend.  Everything that I saw in the simulator played out on the course yesterday.  On solid strikes, the balls were in very similar spots; however, mishits with the TSi3 were noticeably longer and more accurate.  I still prefer the dull acoustics of the SIM, but the TSI3 (with a stiff shaft that wasn't at all strong enough for my SS) performed better.

I'll be ordering the TSi3 soon.
