Wow.  A little surprised by the reaction by a Titleist fan and in particular with the TSI3 .  Looks like the best shaped Titleist driver in years, not sure how going back to a traditional shape would be a bad thing but perhaps I’m in the minority of despising the modern driver shape.  I agree the TSI2 Is not a shape I’d ever find a way to love.   The TSI3 is a potential game changer though for me.

It is not the shape, it all the sparkles and sprinkles. I am not a child, just give me my ice-cream in a bowl with a spoon, I don't need gummy worms and candy hearts on it.

I think the sole looks bad, but I can live with an ugly sole, but the alignment aid is awful, the face is awful and I have to look at those.

It seems like every company wants to make drivers that look like they belong in a Transformer movie and now Titleist is following along.

I don't need to see the tech, I don't need to have the acronyms and initials of the tech all over the place. Try for beauty in the design instead of making it look like a hot hatchback from the Fast and Furious with stickers all over it.

I bet a tour version comes out at some point without the alignment aid.  No way all the tour players wan't to look down at that!

Dang harsh. The TSI is such a small thing. I thought the triangle was ugly but manageable. This is not different maybe even better than the triangle.

All of the weird shapes and ridges on the sole better have some functional reason for existing. If they're just for cosmetics, you're losing the traditional Titleist customer by trying to chase the Callaway/Taylormade customer which I think is going to be a big fail.

Johnny Wunder summarized it well in one of his podcasts with the first five minutes of posted pictures and subsequent comments.   I have no prior relationship with Titleist drivers and so the alignment aid and face and paint sparkles would be perfectly fine given my current and past history with Taylor made with all of the bells and whistles they throw on a club (surprised they haven’t hot melted a whistle onto the bottom of a club, just wait though).  Just give me a pear shape and the tsi3 is a contender.  Make it close to the razor fit extreme, Dbd 815 and 816 in terms of shape and I’m interested. Btw I think the weight port Adjustment at the back is brilliant.  It’s there but not there!

One thing you can always count on with an early product preview, people clutching their pearls over inconsequential cosmetics that will ultimately have very little bearing on the success of the product. Remember how everyone hated the color scheme, name, and even SOUND of the Epic Flash line? Remember how none of that mattered when it performed, even going so far as to be one of the most popular fairway wood releases of that year?

I heard the same stuff with the t100 line.... and it was a homerun.

I love reading these new product release comments. Grown men whining over the looks of a new driver like someone just pi***d in their cheerios. "Oh how could i ever hit a driver with such a hideous alignment aid?" "This driver is made for a child its so futuristic and outlandish." "DO they sell these ugly spaceships at walmart?" Cry me a river, its 2020 things have changed since your 905T. Im pretty sure the engineers at Titleist dont sit around wondering how they can take a few steps back in technology.

New version of Smoke

New version of Kuro Kage

Tensei Raw Blue

Tensei Raw White

Plus all of the typical shaft offerings from Titleist

Special deep discounted prices on Graphite Design Tour AD shafts

If this is true (not doubting you btw) that is a homerun lineup.  Two raw shafts plus that pricing I mentioned above but on AD shafts (I mentioned Motore X).  The only caveat is that the AV Raw appears to have two different quality levels.  For $250 you get the X, but it cost $360 for the TX.  Which indicates that the R/S/X flex shafts may be "watered down" in materials or composition in some way.

? Pretty funny (and I HATE the look). Given I buy a new driver every 6 or 7 years no big deal for me though as I wont be in the market for a while.

BUT I will point out the looks of the driver is not driven exclusively by the engineers. In fact in many cases the engineers may have little to do it. The look has more to do with the marketing department than the tech. Titleist decided to shift a bit in the last few product cycles to be a little less traditional look. If the shift keeps moving in that direction, I will be less and less likely to seek out their product as I like a more subtle design and frankly the tech is very competitive across the major club companies.

I like my TS3 and still have my 913's as back ups, so Titleist has a 4 or 5 years to get back to their roots.

I wouldn't expect it to be.  But the retail price difference between TX and the others in the lineup give the impression that it is an inferior shaft that was made for OEM's under the disguise of the truly premium shaft

You even have the Titleist  driver struck out in your sig.  ouch.

I've always known in my heart of hearts that Titleist was never on the forefront of distance, but it was disheartening to confirm on my own that their latest and greatest simply didn't perform up to the standards of other OEMs. I'm not Cameron Champ but I can poke it out there alright (108-112 ss; 300+ consistently) and I'm somewhat accurate, so for me as I get older distance has been more of a priority in a head knowing that I can most likely figure out how to straighten it.

In these cases, is TX actually stiffer than X or just “better materials”?

Depends on the shaft.  Sometimes it's a different profile, sometimes it's stiffer, sometimes, it's different/"better" materials.

It is hard to imagine an extra $110 for stiffer, it would have to be better materials/tech

Special discount on Tour AD Shafts? ? That sounds too good to be true ?

On the other hand it might be a US thing, normally we do have some different offerings (and a waaaay higher price than you have for all golf equipment) here in Europe.
