@Fujikura Golf

appreciate your info

The IV & the VI are comparable, the VII is a little higher launch.

I still game the 4 it's tech is on par with just about everything out there.

I think the Evo Vl has been over looked. Have it in my driver and the feel and flight are amazing...

This.  Totally off my radar.  I got fitted at Titleist.  I went from a TS3 with a Ventus Black 6x to a TSi2 with the Evo VI 757x.  It worked so well I was fitted into a TSi3 fw with the same shaft...Evo VI 757x.  I came from a TS3 fw with Ventus Blue 7x/AD TP 8tx.

Feel, ball speed, and spin on both are superb...and the accuracy is the best I’ve had in many, many years.  Great shaft for my swing.

No plans for new wedges, irons, or driver this year so I said screw it and ordered a 757 from Will Peoples. I'll be trying it tipped 1" in short/melted SIM setup...whenever I actually play again.

FedEx shipping this time, none of that USPS wheel of death until they get their stuff sorted out.

Just throwing this in here. If you go to Japan and go to almost any golf shop, their stock off the rack drivers almost all come stock with premium shafts like these. You go and check out the Ping or Callaway or Taylormade drivers, they have a Speeder or a Tour AD or a Diamana, and they generally are not some watered down 'made for' version you get in the U.S. Totally different market, and I'm not saying I understand it, but it was just something interesting I noticed when I was over there. So while there may be some opportunity for them to improve on their marketing in the U.S, I wouldn't just assume they have no idea what they are doing.

Evo II 757 and Motore Speeder TS 7.2 are the two shafts I hit the two longest drives of my life with, and I am always interested in a Speeder. My Ventus Black 6S in the driver isn't going anywhere, though.

The IV & VI are both AWESOME Shafts.

Then I made the mistake of getting a 661TR which might be better for me that either of those 2......

My VII came last week, in the middle of multiple winter weather events in the area. All I can say so far is that Will did a great job building (as expected), the paint job looks pretty sick, and the waggle test reminds me of the old Motore I used to love.

Whenever I can get back to the range or a golf course, I'll be trying to compare the 757  to the Atmos Black 7x. Everyone's mileage will vary for sure but I tend to stick to the school of thought that just because a shaft is labeled as a certain type of launch doesn't really mean it will do so in certain hands. Your loft and driver head matter way more, and this is going into a 9 degree SIM.

Definitely following, and curious on what version of the VII you chose, and why.

That's an easy one- 757 because it's the classic, and I play my driver at 44.5" and like the added weight. Tipped it 1" because I have a heavier back weight and a few grams of hot melt in the head.

The classic analogy doesn’t really help me LOL.

Why, in terms of profile does it match up so well compared to the Atmos?

It doesn't really. It's probably closer to an Atmos Blue than an Atmos Black.

I'm trying it because the profile is supposed to be similar to an older shaft that I consistently drove the ball well with over a number of years and different driver heads. I really like Atmos Black but I'm hoping to replicate an old feel that worked for me.

@Fujikura Golf I’m tempted to try the VI tipped 1” in a TSI4 at 45.5. Wonder if the active of the Speeder along with a spin killer head is a good combo?

The white Motore Speeder shaft in the Tour Edge CB Pro Limited Fairway was by far my favorite shaft ever. I felt like I could really go after it without losing control.

Play the Speeder VII 661x in a G410 @10.5 set to big minus and the left side is completely out of play. Occasional block push but when but doesn’t bend right. Consistent baby draw when swinging at 90% 107-110ss and the flight is mid launch low spin. Hit several that rolled out past 315 in the fairway. Length played at 45” with swing weight at D5.5. Love the combo as I can go after it or lay off it and the shaft doesn’t disappoint. Feel is way better than Ventus. The other combo I have is Speeder TR 661S and the shaft feels like an X flex. Play the shaft in the Ping G425 9degrees standard and distance and flight window is identical to the G410 setup. The only drawback was is the swingweight is heavier than the other setup and consistency is not the same. I did switch the shafts around the heads and the G410 Evo VII combo is just perfect! Only thing I want to test now is tip the Speeder TR 1/2” and match swing weight. The combo will be 1/2”’shorter but it may tighten up dispersion and consistency. The G425 sounds and feels unbelievable but G410 is front runner in finding fairways. Could be that they just pair up better. Leaving the G410 alone and going to try and tune in the 425. The only caveat is 425 is 9 degree head and 410 is 10.5 set to 9 so it could just be the face angle setting is throwing off 425. Can’t change that as I am not swapping out for higher loft. Might wait and source a Ventus Red 7X as it only weighs 72 grams uncut. Tip it 1”’to make magenta instead of the 2” purple people eater!

Might want to add that I was long time GD player and have parted ways! Fujikura is staying in the drivers seat for the un-ho-seable future!!

I gave it a go but unfortunately the VII isn't ideal for me. I thought I could recreate some old magic but had a lot of trouble timing the feel of this one up, resulting in inconsistent contact.

Just put a Evo VII 757 in my TSi3, I was very surprised with the performance. It launched a little higher than my previous shaft (Ventus Blue 6x) but spin stayed relatively the same. I picked up some carry but what i really enjoyed was the overall feel. Just a smooth bend and felt very stable. Really gave me the feeling of control when swinging it whether I went after it or not. I am a big Fuji fan and I would say this is just another great addition to the lineup. I think the Speeder line gets over looked a bit due to how well the Ventus shafts preform but I think this one is something people should try for sure.

@Fujikura Golf

can you comment on the feel of the VI?

is it a smooth, linear feel?
how does 661x compare to the Atmos Black 7x, or 6x?

Evo 6 and ATMOS blue 6 would be closely aligned in terms of bend/EI profile....but, as we will always say...go get fit! 🙂

so.......6 is Evo 1, 7 is Evo 2 and 5 is Evo 3 basically

Evo 4 was re-bar for me as I need launch and spin

II and IV are very similar as is III and V to me. I have not hit VI or VII to comment. I am a big fan of Speeder Evo shafts. Very underrated in my opinion.

Agreed.

Love to understand which one 7 is most like?  I thought 2

On the first page, quote directly from Fujikura:

"Evo 7 feels much different than 3 with that pitch woven 70t in there and it will launch lower and spin less than 3. Evo 7 is seeming close to Evo 2 in our testing."

that was my thinking, thanks

4 feels low/lower than 2 to me and doesn't really suit me

think I am going to go 7 driver and 5 fairway

This thread reminds JP of the black hole shafts occupy in the golf gear world. Expensive and almost impossible to know until you demo...it is the weakest part of JP’s golf gear knowledge base and it changes almost yearly...
