Callaway XR 16 Driver vs. Rogue

So I have a Callaway XR 16 driver with a Fujikura 565 Regular flex shaft.  I have been eyeballing the Rogue at my local DSG and went to hit one (with the Aldila Synergy senior flex shaft) in the sim and didn't notice one bit of difference in the numbers between the Rogue and my XR 16.  Should there be a noticeable difference between the two?  If so I didn't see it.

Loved my xr16 pro
Tried the rogue sz and was not impressed by it compared to my xr16pro. 
in fact the gbb epic sz was better than the rogue sz.

Rogue is being phased out and really not much more than the Epic Flash, I would try to grab an EF if you can.

Just upgraded my XR16 for an Epic Flash SZ. Gained 15 yards of carry using the same shaft. 
I poo poo the massive distance gain claims when it comes to new drivers, but this was a pleasant surprise.

IMHO it comes down to strike and ball speed retention on mis-hits. The XHot line are great drivers but if you miss them off center they go off center.

 

I have found Rogue (I game both a standard and SZ) and newer heads help on the off center hits more then my older XHot and XR drivers I had gamed in the past. If you are striking them well close to the center, you are not likely to see more then a 1-2 MPH ball speed differences. The misses, while shorter, tend to go a bit farther and be a bit less prone to the where in the rough did that go.

 

I have hit some heel misses with my Rogue that had no business being in a fairway....thank you technology.

Thanks for the replies.  Still on the fence about an upgrade.  I thought there would be more of a difference between the two.  I can certainly see where the newer heads would help with forgiveness on off center hits, but I didn't see a bit of difference distance wise.  Maybe I'll try an Epic....not a big fan of the Maverick.

XR16 is a great driver, but was very high spin for me. Ball speeds were fast, probably fast as anything out now. I like callaway drivers, had the XR16, GBB Epic sz and Rogue sz. GBB Epic was the best of the 3 for me, Rogue then the XR16. The XR16 3 wood is great as well, still have mine and would have no problem putting it in the bag.

I played the XR16 for a season about 2 yrs ago and it worked well for me. The only issues I had with it was on, what felt/sounded like a perfect strike, I didn’t gain yardage also dispersion was not great for me. I switched to a g400max and am much happier. 
 

I wish I would have testing the xr on a launch monitor to see numbers. It could have just been too high spinning for me like others said.

Well I went with the Rogue after lots of back and forth between drivers, and I'm glad I did.  I paired it with my Fujikura 565r shaft and picked up about 8-10 yards of carry over the XR 16.  Also, it didn't take much getting used to with my existing shaft.  This one will be in my bag for awhile.

Good decision. I upgraded my XR with Fujikura 565 Regular flex for the Rogue 9.0 with the Aldila 60 Synergy Regular last spring and by early summer was getting 10-15 more yards and straighter - loving the Rogue.

@wcdixon when I first tried the rogue in the simulator I wasn't impressed but I tested it with the stock shaft.  The 565 from my XR 16 made all the difference.  I also couldn't believe how much larger the Rogue head is than the XR 16.  The XR 16 has been a good driver for me for a few years, but I'm really impressed with the Rogue.

Depends on the shaft. Same shaft, probably zero difference.

Very similar shafts, also, probably zero difference.

Radically different shafts, in weight, flex point, torque, stiffness, of course there will be a difference but, that is true of any two clubheads.

I have a Xr regular shaft and would like to try a Rogue with ac stiff shaft. I have to swing the regular shaft so slow otherwise it gets too much snap
