ASICS Glide review

I was in the market for spikeless shoes. Honestly, I was in the market for the adidas codechaos, and was just waiting for the Labor Day price drop. In anticipation I went to a local PGATSS and tried them on. The regular model were comfortable, and had support, but felt too heavy. Sport felt better but had too little support. They were honestly the same as my current shoes, 4Forged S, which I love but they lack support. On a lark I tried the ASICS glides. I love ASICS running shoes, and figured I’d see if the golf shoes were at all similar (I had low expectations, and new balance golf shoes are nothing like the running shoes IMO). Was I surprised. The ASICS Glides felt AMAZING. They fit like running shoes, in terms of comfort and foot support, but had a firmer sole. Not hard not rigid, but a perfect amount of stiffness to support my swing. Walking in them was a dream. Worth $100 or more.

These shoes get little love. I wanted to get the word out - try them.

FWIW, I wear 12M in adidas and wear 12 M in these too

On my third pair of ASICS golf shoes, first pair I got on a trip to Japan... they were the first pair of shoes to eliminate some foot pain I get from I think it’s virus or vagus foot alignment and the Asics solves it without any custom footbeds.

Good grip from the latest spike less ones...

I really want to give these a go but dislike all of the color options. Hoping they bring something new out for next season..

Asics doesn't really do contemporary in terms of colors especially since these share styling from their running shoes.

Also not really a fan of any of the options available in the US. I wish spiked versions like what Matsuyama and McDowell wear were available over here.

Yeah I wished they had a laced and spiked option. I'm not a fan of spikeless lately and I hate BOA. I would get a pair because I know how comfortable Asics are on my feet.

Yes, yes, yes. I want that clean look. While I appreciate the comfort you can get with shoes that are more styled along the lines of running shoe, I don't golf in a running shoe. No reason you can't marry a clean classic look on the outside to the cushioning and comfort built into the inside.
