Reed's ballin' today.  Funny saying that about somebody hanging around even par for the round but he's fighting hard.

I've seen more shots where the pros have had to be creative today than I'll see watching in an entire month of regular tour events. My only gripe is that the tournament didn't start like this.

The US Open is my favorite tournament. It's a tough test, no question, but it is only once a year and the players know what to expect. Those that don't complain about course conditions probably play better than those that do. Given the conditions, I don't think it's a train wreck. It's sort of what you would expect.

has there been talk of pace of play issues today? unfortunately i haven't been able to watch much.

 

i saw some discussion yesterday about the late-september scheduling being problematic. e.g. 1.5 hours less daylight and tough conditions could mean guys don't finish their rounds.

Idk, from a serious point, I'm sure they're not hoping for two "no-names"...as much as those two are lightning rods, would they draw in people to watch?
