Tucson Club Membership Options

Hey all,

 

I'm new to the forum as well as the Tucson area. Just moved here from the East Coast for a job. I'm considering joining a club but am not sure which one would be right for my wife and I. We are pretty young as far as 'country club' demographics go (30 years old), so we'd like to join a club with a decent amount of younger members. Budget would preferably be under $600/month and under 10k initiation fee. Anyone have any thoughts?

@cmsulliv, I know absolutely nothing about the Tucson golf scene other than what I was looking at in researching non-resident membership offerings.  I don't know if Stone Canyon has a younger club demographic (doubt it), but they have a well regarded course that's $7,500 initiation and $575/month for Jr. Exec, along with access to some other Mickelson group courses in AZ as well.  I've never played the course, but looks like a thoughtful layout, albeit not very walker friendly from what I've read.

I have a (senior citizen) friend who is a member at Tucson CC and I've been a guest there many times. Good old easy to walk parkland-style course and nice clubhouse facility. I don't know what the dues/fees are, but they do have a junior-type membership, and my friend has been saying they have been pretty eager for new members in the past 5+ years. Might be at least worth your time to inquire with their membership person to see what the deal is.
