New WRX 3.1 Core Update is LIVE. As of Saturday 11:15pm. ANY BUGS or COMMENTS?

We are now live after updating to the latest Core update. We looked around and have yet to see any bugs. I like the cleaner look as well. How about you?

I don't know if this is new or not but being able to scroll through photos on BST after you've clicked on an image is super helpful.

Site looks very white and sterile again...with a difficult to read font.

 

The 2 days ago version was very close to being just right.

Unread Content seems to now showing each individual post meaning it is returning multiple results for the same thread vs just the latest post for each thread.

Me too.  Also the stars are gone on threads I have posted in.  All balls now.  So far I am finding this upgrade to be form over function.

Seems to be the law of unintended consequences. A FEW people didn't understand the difference between the "star" and the "button" for "Go to first unread" and because they were used to clicking on the title to get to "First Unread", got confused and asked about it.

 

Instead of putting up a "help" topic and/or letting them find their way, the star is gone and NOW ALL posts are displayed individually instead of just 1 for each topic. So the confusion about "First Unread post" actually STILL exists.

 

This goes for all "Content" variations - well, at least for "Content I posted In" and "Unread Content".

 

Which is interesting BTW, because EASILY the MOST complained about "feature" (See Vokey Giveaway thread) was about SEARCH and particularly the board's ordering of the SEARCH results. Seemingly a pretty easy "fix" by having searches default to "DATE", rather than "Relevancy" - THAT didn't happen.

That, IMO, is the number one reason people go elsewhere.

100% agree with this.

 

I'm not sure what the logic was in this latest Rev, but the Rev from last week was almost perfect from a UI and speed perspective.

And now there's NO editing of posts ?

 

We went from "forever" editing on the original board to no editing to 15 minutes to edit (a very common setting) and now back to NO editing ?

Wrx team, Why is the font for the new forum so small on my phone? Relative to the old site and other sites I visit the message font is uncomfortably small.

 

On a desktop pc it looks great. 

 

Running a Galaxy S10 both chrome and Brave browser same issue.

Any idea why ? I mean every other board with this software has it right next to the "Quote", just as it was before this 3.1 struff. Why fix something that ain't broke ?

 

And BTW, any idea if we'll get Post #s on the individual posts ? Or the "like" button back to a "thumbs up" instead of a "heart" ? I consider myself something of a modern man but I still ain't crazy about "hearting" a guy.

The sites seems much slower since this weekend's maintenance. Maybe it is still indexing, etc., but I am waiting on every page to load when it was lightening fast a few days ago.

I agree with others that the website is definitely MUCH slower than it was prior to the maintenance this past weekend.

Using the mobil browser (android), I find only one tier higher to tap to go back.

See the attached pic....

Upper left shows "website help, news, feedback"...just below GOLF

WRX

PC browser shows home, etc, etc. Multiple tiers to go back.

 

So, you must hit this tier level several times to get to home.

 

Maybe tap to get a menu to select the tier level of choice?

OK, I'm not exactly sure exactly what you're asking. By "tier", you mean the last place/page you were before you got to the page you're showing ?

 

If so, on my Android the <, at the bottom of your phone, is the "back button". And it should keep going back as far as you can.

 

You're looking at the "Mobile" version. Your phone's browser is much less "feature rich" simply because of the size of the browser on your phone and the screen's real estate.

 

You might want to try the "Desktop" version of the site on your phone. To get it, click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right and scroll down to "Desktop Site" and click on the box. Might be easier to navigate.

Perhaps this pic will show the tiers in the forum.  Each tier has multiple forums within.

I can get to these on my win10 pc fairly easily...not on the mobil.

Maybe instead of the single prior level shown in the pic above a menu can be provided which when tapped will provide access to forum tiers!

Agree.  On a Windows PC with Chrome Edge the font is borderline too big. It could be reduced a point or two. But on my iPad Pro 12.9” on Safari, it’s really small.   I would prefer if they were switched.

Upon checking closely the triple bar in the upper right corner has forums which it appears will allow me to navigate better than the single item located below GOLF WRX shown in the first pic.

 

Unfortunately, there are only three of the above tiers showing?

Can the other tiers be added?

The "Forums" you clicked on is equivalent to the same one on the desktop - that's why you see the same SUB-forums under it.

 

Click on Browse first, then Forums and that will give you all the Forums,,,,,,,,,,,,, yeah, I know,,,,,,,,,

WAIT....IT DOES WORK....JUST THE SLOW LOADING.

 

Really just need to add the other tiers to those listed under Forums as well as home and then all forums will be accessible easily.

You tap on Browse and get another menu, yes ?

 

And on that menu tapping on "Forums" doesn't do anything ???

It will take weeks to stabilize the board. Outages can be expected as we work out issues.
