Mitsubishi new MMT proto - September 2020

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL does that mean I can provide my Aerotech Steelfiber 125CW to you and you will magically transform them into a set of MMT 125S. All joking aside. Looks like I have a reason to not sell my Apex combos I have listed on BST. Will definitely be buying a 4-9i to hardstep them in my 5-PW. Best news I have heard all week. Keep the stoke alive!

This seems a lot like Kuro Kage, but with a SS rather then Ti-Ni

Wonder of advantages of one over the other...

Similar overall concept, but very different construction I think. In the KK shafts, the TiNi wire are individual strands and there are only about 10 (17 for the Dual Core shafts) so they are supplemental to the structure of the tip. The MMT shafts however use a steel mesh it seems to actually form part of the tip structure, almost like being halfway between a Kuro Kage and a Grafalloy Bi-Matrix shaft. Cool stuff regardless.

The specs look very interesting. Mid launch low spin. I like that idea.

The profile is pretty linear which "usually" equates to good feel and an even load. Slight bump at the tip in stiffness. Nice!!

Would this profile be a good replacement for PX?

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL Are we still looking Nov 1st for 125S MMT? If I get the new Callaway irons will they access to these as an upgrade? It looks like the MMT is "stock" option for them but only up to 105?

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL I've heard the 125tx CPMs about a 7.0 on the rifle scale. I currently use X100, which isn't quite as stiff as that... When I demo'ed 125tx, I had trouble hitting my normal draw. Will the 125S be closer in stiffness to x100 or will you ever release a normal X flex?

Hey Gio!! Good question... Yep. It actually made my SW go down a little bit so I added just a touch of lead tape on the iron. However... I did actually soft step the shaft twice because I heard how stiff it was. Maybe that softening affect was giving me unintended results? I loved how it felt honestly... it didn't "feel" too stiff, but seeing 0% draw and mostly pushes had me thinking it was too much shaft for me.

typically a shaft that's too much for you will either come out low or go left harder. what you'd do is compensate naturally and end up holding on to it and hitting those pushes. my thought is that its too much for you. you'd be better off going with a stiff or x and putting it straight in, no stepping to work best for you.

Yeah I think it just feels really good because of the construction but the TXG guys told me it cycles much closer to what a 7.0 would be, which is definitely too much for me.

Doesn't sound like an X flex is coming though right now? Just a stiff. I'd need to demo it for a while to see what kind of dispersion I'd end up with. I don't mind a little softer in irons since I don't always swing full out like on a tee shot... it just can't feel whippy or soft in the tip.

Our dynamics are probably really different, but I went straight in for the 125TX from Modus 120TX and was a very easy transition.  The shafts are stout when you just try to bend them in your hands, but when you swing them I don't think it feels that way.  I'd potentially try going straight in vs SS and you could be pleasantly surprised.

I have the 105 TX soft-stepped once. I think they are great for me, but the 125 Stiff might be even better. Coming from PX LZ 6.5's. Will look forward to the specs on the 125 stiff to see how different they are to the 105 TX. I tend to swing less aggressively with irons so if the 125 S is a touch softer, might be worth a look.

@MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL, similar question, but wouldn't mind an update on the MMT 120/125 stiff tapered iron shafts.  Like @JakeW13, I'd be willing to try a full back of MMT shafts

I've ordered a set of New Level 623-M irons with MMT 125 TX.  Look out for review sometime within the next 2 weeks, folks.  Been getting a lot of positive feedback from tbone18 and J13 and decided to pull the trigger.

I am 105-108 driver and hit most modern lofted player.s irons 7 iron about 170. I have 105 tx soft stepped once and they are great. I think I could drop down to a stiff flex and be fine, but any stiffer and I’d be in trouble. I wanted the 105 TX because they are a bit heavier than the stiff flex.

Took them out to the course for the second time earlier this week.  I thought my recoils had a lot of feel.  These are unreal.  My dispersion with irons has gotten better as well.  Normally, on my bad mishits the ball can curve quite a bit left with the recoils, but the MMT showed a tighter shot pattern.  Very happy with the results so far.

It's so true. I was playing S300s last season and needed something to help bring my ball flight into a manageable window (was starting to lose irons in orbit, lol). The 125TXs are stout, but damn if they don't feel every bit as good as the S300s, I might even argue they feel better. Dispersion for me has also been fantastic, I'm seeing very little sidespin and super neutral flight. I said earlier in this thread that I could see myself playing MMT throughout the bag (minus driver probably).
