Bought time. The Lamkin deep etched cord is the only grip I will use. IT IS THE BEST!!

I've always felt the opposite. Adding 30g of grip weight on a putter can make a major difference if you're sensitive to it!

Pistol is a little thinner with a little more taper to it.

This is funny, but I do have this grip (non cord) on 2 of my putters and the lettering does feel kind weird under my right thumb lol.

Woods had switched to a new version of his Cameron Newport putter with a longer shaft at Harding Park, where he ranked 36th in the field in putts, but he has returned the original to his bag with a new grip similar to the grip he used in college.

 

Granted it's been years since I had one in hand, but IIRC weren't those Golf Prides?  Very similar--perhaps identical?--to what they sold as a "Pro Score Cord."

They are very similar but the shape is slightly different on the Golf Pride Pro Score Cord and the Lamkin Deep Etched Pistol.

From an article I read today it was confirmed as a Golf Pride grip back in his college days. Does anyone know why Tiger switched to the PP58 Ping grip?

For starters, this isn’t the first time Woods has used a similar cord-style grip with a deep-etched pattern. During his time at Stanford, it was his grip of choice on an Odyssey Dual Force 660 putter. Only that grip was made by Golf Pride.

During his victory at the 1996 NCAA Division I Men’s Individual Championships, Woods used an Odyssey Dual Force 660 putter. It had an Anser-style head shape, a black insert on the face, and a cord-style Golf Pride grip.

 

Sometime after his 1996 NCAA victory, Woods started using a new Scotty Cameron Newport putter with a Pro Platinum finish and no face insert. Like the Odyssey putter he used prior, the putter had a cord grip on it.

Could golf channel have a bigger stiffy over a grip change? You'd think this cord grip was some sort of an epiphany the way they're dramatizing the change.

Yup and that has the old logo which to my knowledge hasn't been produced in a while.......Lamkins gonna be selling out at GG's today.

 

IMO The Pingman and Classic GP are just TOOO small, I get more of my other hands than I do grip the way I hold the putter.

Just checked ebay.  There's one guy who hasn't heard the news with one listed for like $15, then someone else with TIGERS GRIP!!!!! for $50, lol.

When I heard he had switched to a cord grip on his putter I was surprised it wasn't this one given how long he has played a Ping grip.  I have one on my Nike MOD90 as I'm not as big of a fan of the deeper etching of the Lamkin, absolutely love it.

It’s the paddle version too, not the one TW is using.  ?
