Fairway Wood, Hybrid or Utility Iron

I'm looking to replace my 5 wood and can't decide if I should replace it with a 5 wood or switch it to a hybrid or utility iron. Currently my bag has a 3W, 5W, 4-P. 3W goes about 250 and 4I 225. I don't have any experience with Hybrids or utility irons but would like something more forgiving than a wood. I definitely strike my irons well and think the Taylormade UDI or UHY could work but wonder if a Hybrid would be the better bet.

I don't know how fast you swing, but having tried driving irons they are only Ok when I purred them but costly when it didn't so I have I have added a Ping G410 17 degree Hybrid that I have lofted down by a degree so it sits slightly open which suits my eye and its so good, flies like bullet - That would be my suggestion to replace the 5W and driving iron

I struggle a lot with hybrids (overdraw). As much as I would like to have one (or two) in the bag, I am/it is not reliable enough. I recently added a Cobra Forged Tec Utility 3i to the bag and have been very happy so far. It's rather "simple" to hit a straight, baby draw or larger draw, and the adjustability of it is a big plus. I am also awaiting delivery (today) of a Cobra SZ 5W. Whether I keep both in the bag at the same time is up in the air, but I presume I will. If you don't have the ability to test them locally, Global Golf's UTRY program is great. Not a huge selection at the moment thanks to the 'rona, but a number of utility irons and hybrids (assuming you're RH).

tee & fairway club? tee only? fairway only? The hybrid is "supposed" to be more forgiving from the fairway, but given you hit your irons well, a utility iron may fit your gapping. Remember, length of shaft also changes between fwy wood, hybrid or ui for same loft.
