Aldila Tour Blue vs Diamana Kai'Li in 7 Wood

Hey guys. I recently bought a Rogue 7 wood and reshafted it with a Matrix Kujoh 85 gram shaft. Well, I'm just not getting along with this club. Something about it is "off" and it doesn't mesh with my swing. The Kujoh is kind of a cheap shaft and I really don't like the way it feels anyway, so it's time to get something to turn this club into a reliable weapon from 225 yards out. I have a Diamana Kai'Li at 80 grams in my Callaway V Series 5 wood and it's great. So, the obvious answer is to get another 80 gram Kai'Li and put it in the 7 wood. But this is WRX, and I love to tinker, so I'm also thinking Tour Blue 85. Can someone comment on how these shafts compare to each other? I can get the Tour Blue for about $30 cheaper, but if I'm not going to like it the savings isn't really worth it. As always, thanks in advance!

Just my opinion, if you have something you like that works, I would go with that and maintain consistency through the bag. If Kaili does what you want, the gains from switching would be incremental at best with a possibly large downside. I would go Kaili in both.

The tour blue is really similar to the Kai'li. It's more counterbalanced but it has a great mid flight and really stable. Plus, they are usually easier to find than a Kai'li.

Ah, counterbalanced, that kills it for me. I'm usually not a fan of counterbalanced shafts, and especially not in this case. I'm building this club to 41" and I need plenty of weight toward the head to get a decent swingweight. That being said, I may try a Tour Blue in my mini driver, or perhaps even my G400 Max just for grins. It's a shaft that's been on my radar for a long time. I'm glad to hear it is pretty similar to the Diamana blue profile that I get along with so well. I'm off to buy the Kai'Li 80 that I found this morning on the bay. Thanks guys!

It's not a true counterbalanced shaft but does have a higher balance point than the Kai'li. I had one in a F6 baffler at 41.5 and it had plenty of weight. I don't like counterbalanced shafts but I like the tour blue.

FWIW, I found the Kai'li 70 stiff noticeably softer than the tour blue 70 stiff. I had to tip the Kai'li a full inch before it started to feel similar. But don't know if it would be the same for the 80 or not.

The Kai'Li 80 does play a bit soft as well, but I like that feel in my fairway woods. It also helps me hit the nice draw that I expect from them.
