Driver Numbers Comments

A friend of mine went for a driver fitting and got these numbers from the fitter. These are from a 410+ 10.5 adjusted to 12 degrees. The fitter recommended that set up with a regular flex Alta 55. Thoughts? Interpretations?

I, in no way, mean this in a disparaging way...but your friend needs lessons more than a new driver. Assuming your friend isn't mid to upper 60s or older, there's no tech help for your friends needs. Look at the standard deviation numbers. 7 degrees std dev in launch angle...1000 std dev in spin.

Tks. He asked me about it and I don’t know what it all means or even what launch monitor he was on. It was at the Golftown in Halifax, NS. There are 3-4 it looks to me you could eliminate as they were obviously non typical swings 3,4 and 9

Yeah with all due respect to your friend, everything is all over the place there and ball speeds are in line with short irons. Either your friend is an extreme beginner, senior, or heavily intoxicated. ?

Instruction is the only recommendation I could give based on those numbers, even removing the extreme outliers.

On a more jovial note...ask your friend if the fitter was mad at the 3 sky marks your friend put on the fitting head...lol

Not sure if this is true for all launch monitors, but I go to a Top 100 clubfitter and I know their system has some type of calibration based on the club type input. The fact that the "fitter" here didn't switch it from an "iron" setup to "driver" setup is lazy at best, and most likely also affecting results. Including obvious complete misses also skews whatever usable data there might be in here.

 

Agreed with others, there isn't enough consistency here to really suggest anything. If you friend wants to get fitted, he probably needs to find a quality fitter who has enough instruction credentials to get him in line with a reasonably repeatable swing.

This was done at a Golftown so it was probably done on a GCHawk which reads the ball directly. The  screenshot is definitely the new Foresight format.

 

On the Foresight LMs you have to type the name of the club in but it does not do any adjustments to the readings based on that. You can type in "Bob" for club name if you want.
