Wolff driver shaft / Ad TP 7x

Had always wondered why there wasn’t any love for this shaft , never could get out of the  ad di shadow 

 

seems like a good deal like the white board profile. 
 

wolff absolutely mauls the driver, wonder if this will cause this one to get a second look in bags

Not sure many average golfers can do much with a 76g X flex driver shafts that has a profile that probably doesn't work for many and costs what it does. The DI which has a profile that fits more people is more popular for that reason.

There are so many profiles in the Tour AD lineup that are only slightly different, any one  of them can get overlooked. The TP is a nice shaft. In the 60-gram range at stiff flex it is not hard to handle.
 

Pretty easy to dial in GD shafts in general for any swing with the various similar models and trim options.

I agree, I find graphite design to be a little soft to flex compared to other X stiff shafts.

I used to play it in the driver 80tx , 

 

bouncE in the bag btw Ad TP tx and a KK XD

 

biggest diff for me Is the feel , more lively in  TP

That soft you feel is actually just how smooth it actually is

Graphite Design always uses high quality materials and most of their profiles are mid soft designs, hence the smoothness they are associated with.

Graphite Design's descriptions of shaft profile can be very misleading because they are not meant to applied to the industry as a whole, but rather within their own lineup. The AD-TP is actually extremely similar to the AD-DI, its basically just a slightly beefed up version:



A little bit stiffer in the butt section and a little more stability towards the tip. It basically reads like a "driver" version of the AD-DI which has been the ever popular fairway wood shaft. 

As a comparison, here is the AD-TP next to the Kuro Kage XT which is a very typical "Whiteboard" profile:



The XT is softer in the butt, softer in the tip, and stiffer in the mid, exactly what you would expect from a "White" profile when comparing it to more of a "Blue" profile, which the AD-TP and a majority of Graphite Design's lineup is.

I had a TP 7X in my Mavrik SZ. I enjoyed it, I think it’s a great profile.

I have a AD-TP 6s that I may regrip and do some testing with in my Mavrik 3D head. 

 

Went to Club Champion last week when I was swinging like absolute crap.  They put me in the LAGP Olyss 6s, after trying the Speeder TR, Ventus Black 6x, Tensei Pro White, Smoke Green, RPG Red, and Aldila Silver.

 

That said, the fitter knew I already had a Tensei PO 6s, Ventus Black 7s, and AD-TP - so kinda felt like he just wanted to sell me something different.  He also disliked Graphite Design stuff for some reason.

Played the TP profile most of last year with great success.  Switched to the VR in a stiffer shaft when I got my Proto driver, and I’m loving that too. I only play GD in my driver/3W......love the smooth feel of them.

I was fit into the TP a few days again at PXG. To me, it is the best feeling GD shaft in my Lori in. I have played and owned the DI, IZ, and VR, and the TP is the best of the bunch - FOR ME. 
 

Like people have said, it’s beefed up DI, but more feel that the IZ. It’s as advertised too, mid launch and low spin. It will be going in my PXG Proto.
