Heppler adjustable shafts

Hi guys, 

asked this in my Heppler thread, but have you still noticed the adjustable putter shafts of the Heppler being a bit too soft/flexible? I know this was an issue with the sigma 2 line, and wondering if they addressed it with the Heppler. I would b playing the putter at 33” likely, so I’m hoping that won’t be too much of a problem. Thanks.

Just picked up a Tyne3, have it down around 33, and didn't notice it personally. I probably hit 50 putts with it inside up to around 30 feet and hit some 50-70 footers outside as well. Did see it mentioned in a youtube vid on the hepler so ymmv. Might be an issue at longer length or if you intend to tee off with it ala Jamie Sedlowski ?

I haven't seen the Heppler, but Ping has an annoying habit of sticking with a technology and not addressing a known issue (i20 flaking) so I would expect that the problem will persist.  I originally had an adjustable shaft on my Valor and it started failing within a month.  It also was too whippy.  Once I got it back with a solid shaft, it was a better putter.  I would custom order it with a fixed length shaft assuming you know your length.

This is exactly the model and length I’ll be getting, so fingers crossed I have the same experience! If anything I might go 0.25” shorter which again in theory would help negate a flexible shaft. Thanks ??

You're going to love it. I walked in expecting to get  the sigma2, but the fitter put me in this one. Wasn't even on my radar due to appearance, but nothing in the store could come close for my specific stroke. Great distance control, and I love the feel!

Have you tried the spider x at all, and if so can you compare the feel? We play on slow greens and I like my spider enough, but the firmer feel of the Heppler I think may help quite a bit. The tyne3 looks like a no brainer to line up.

Go to the store, get fit for the length that fits you best and order a fixed length stealth shaft from PING (no upcharge). All concerns about shaft flexibility gone.

They put about 3 different spiders in my hands (sorry, don't know which models), and I liked feel/distance control of all of them - *but* for me they didn't sit square and I kinda had to fiddle with them to get the look I wanted at address. As far as feel, I don't know if you could have a better putter for slow greens. They didn't have SAM, so I don't really have intense data about roll - it is kinda retro going back to a completely flat face. Happy so far though.

They did fix the adjustable shaft issue-replaced with a stiffer shaft in the Heppler line. I still ordered my ZB3 with a fixed length -Nippon makes the black chrome fixed length shaf that Ping uses.

I read on the Ping site that the Heppler did have a stiffer shaft. Wonder if it is stiff enough when you put it near 35" and play on slower greens?  Noticed they didn't do anything for the other models that use the adjustable shaft.

I just bought the ZB3. It’s definitely an issue. Is sending it to ping my best route?
