Ping i210 new version?

I was fitted for a set of I500’s 4-PW with recoil shafts but wanted to hit the I210 back in March.  In the fitters defense I had some back issues, was not swinging it well. Last month I saw a I210 7 iron demo in the our local pro shop and took it out with me on my round. All I can say is WOW!!! Immediate regret! The I210 was SO much softer, ball flight was better and so much more accurate. So I did what anyone would do...I’ve sold my I500’s and I got fitted for a set of I210’s 4-PW DG 120 S300. I don’t care if there coming out with something new, this is the closest feel iron to my old Mizuno’s I’ve had in a long time. Now I wait for 8-10 weeks 😬

I feel for you. We even had a whole thread about it, with some strong opinions about I-500s. Many, including me, had the same problems as you with the 500s but loved the 210s. Hopefully any new models improve but it will be tough to do

I am really ready for a new set of irons and am considering the i210.  Although I really want to see the I blade replacement first and would think a i210 replacement is coming as well.

 

On a slightly different note, where can one find Pings custom shaft options?

I got tired of the wait, ordered 210s a couple of weeks ago.  Current wait times quoted are 4 to 8 weeks, not sure if COVID or if they are ramping up for a new model.

Their site shows some of the shafts but you can get a list via online retailes (TGW and such) in the custom order section.

Yes - I almost ordered from TGW last week.  Had everything in the cart and then walked away - LOL.

Same! I can only hope 4 to 8 weeks. My pro told me more like 10 to 12!

Appreciate the heads up, I may have to re-think the 210s if it goes that long, love Ping but these wait times are crazy

I ordered blueprints 2 and a half weeks ago and was told 4-5 weeks. It was the shafts they didn't have in stock.

Hope so as my 919 Tours are amazing, I just didn't miss the middle with the small heads on the Blueprints, less margin for error seems to work with my brain.

The MOI difference between the 919 Tour and the Blueprints isn't all that much.  I don't think it'll be a problem if you're not all over the face with either of them.

that's comforting to know. The 4 iron was easy to hit, I was originally thinking new version of Iblade for the 4 but as soon as I hit the 4 iron my mind was changed.

After reading through this thread is the general consensus that the I 210 replacement will be announced at the show in January?

Anyone else know if the new i210 will come out after the holidays? If so would it be ready for retail before next golf season ? For us northerners. 😝trying to decide if I should just get the 210 or hold out . Hoping for a black version!

My Golf Shop told me today that the 210 replacement won’t be until British Open time!

I hope not either. This is when most people up here start replacing there gear. Id hate to buy a set of i210’s just to see a gorgeous new set come out that I gotta get. Sold my P790s to set up for this.... might have jumped the gun.

Also well aware a replacement might come out just after I get these!

I did a live chat with ping trying to get some kind of clue. They said the usual like “normal your life cycle is 18-24 months so expect something, but the iblade has been around since 2016” so we will see. He also told me 12 week wait time. Hard to tell what to do. I guess the i210 is awesome so you can’t go wrong committing to that.

They always overstate time getting to Aotearoa; customs hold-ups and such. I know it does take a little longer, but I don't think it'll be 12w IMO.

 

I think those 210s are going to be good for you for a very long time. And in 5 years, you'll still get 1000 on trademe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ha, I'm just the opposite of most of you. I played i210's all summer and 3 weeks ago purchased i500's and actually enjoy the 500's better.  However, the 210's sit right next to the 500's in the basement waiting for the call to duty.  I gained distance and got the ball flight I like to play with the 500's, 210's I couldn't keep the flight down consistently, always ballooned up on me.  I'm going to a fitter next week so we'll see which set is really meant for me.

Talked to our pro today who has been working with Ping and he said no replacements for i210, iblade, blueprint this cycle. Just the G line. Bummer.

From what I heard Feb 2021 G425 stuff launches and the 210 should have a replacement too

When I asked my fitter he said he has no clue what pings up to. He said he knows every other companies plan but ping. It would be nice to know i might just pull the trigger in some i210. The only thing that would hurt is if some nice black ones came out that I had to have

I’ve hit everything but keep coming back to my i210. Can’t see how they can improve but mine are wearing out. Looking for the next generation.

G series will be January. You’re not gonna see i210 replacement until next summer
