Ping eye 2 berrilyum copper irons

I met a guy that has a set of ping copper eye2 irons 1 iron through lob wedge all matching serial numbers brand new never even out of original wrapping they are red dots. He wants to sell them but I’m curious what you guys think these are worth?

There are some sets with insane buy it now prices for sale on ebay but if you search for completed sales it looks like the market is somewhere around $1,000 to $1,500

Before Covid , $300-$400. Now, $1000 and up.

Verifiable NOS, all original (not refurbed in any way, with original grips), original packaging and labels, numbers matching, complete set 1 - LW of Cu E2's are extraordinarily rare.  Pat Pend or Pat # in the rear cavity?  A quick check of the eBay sold listings, most are not NOS, several sets obviously reconditioned.  Patina is important.  Could easily bring a value north of $2k, maybe much more to the right collector.  Hard to peg a value on irons this rare short of the high end golf auction houses.  A slightly less value if they're the Plus (+) version.

Curious, how/where would you market these if they were yours and you were looking to sell?

There's several golf memorabilia auction sites around that deal in high-end, exclusive collectibles.  Several show up with a google search.  The Golf Auction (https://thegolfauction.com) is but one.  I'd make an inquiry gauging consignment interest, estimates as to potential realized value, fees, etc.  If irons are as described, completely NOS, never having hit a golf ball, one is entering a market beyond eBay.  Into the realm of serious Ping collectors that is international in breadth.  I'd say one needs that type of exposure to realize top value.  These type of collectors demand complete originality and authenticity.  Clubs that are likely destined for display purposes only, never to be played.  One would be foolish to play irons that are of this vintage and condition.  

 

Unfortunately, don't have any golf implements around of this apparent caliber.  So left to peddle my beaters on eBay and FB.

The Ping irons and wedges produced prior to year 2010 have non-conforming grooves for some competitions now, and for all Rules of Golf come year 2024.

2nd Swing has a set of BeCu Eye2, 1-SW, never been hit, listed on their website for the low low price of $3,667.99.

Worth quite a bit.  I've seen used BECU sets like that in its entirety for about $1500 US but with the Pandemic increasing prices on used golf clubs and with their new, unhit condition, it is worth a lot more than that.  If this guy want to sell them, now is the time to do so.

Who cares...  No one buying that set would be playing them...  It's a unicorn set ffs...
