New level NLU-01?

Recommended Posts

Looking for some imput on this driving iron, or New level in general. Great price and great looking DI. Currently gaming a U-65, which is fantastic, and really don't need to replace, but I do have an opening in my back-up bag.

Curious about this one too. Not a big driving iron guy because I don’t like the fat soles off turf but this one looks a little sleeker and is intriguing.

As for New Level, the equipment is great. Playing the 902 irons 5-P and the Tri-weight 50 gap wedge. So pure. Built perfectly to my specs and it is a design that performs well. Clean looking clubs that are as good as anything I’ve played.

I have one 18 degrees bent to 17 with the PX Smoke 100 6.5 and it's the best I've ever owned. Can hit it high, low, fade and draw and it's a monster. I'm a pretty long player (driver SS 120) but played this club last weekend at my member guest almost exclusively off the tee and was hitting it close to 280 pretty regularly. I even had 2 shots from 260 in the fairway and hit low stinging chasers on the front edge which is a really awesome shot to have and not to worry about spraying it OB. HIGHLY recommend!

Able to post some photos? Would like to see the sole and look from address. They need a little more oomph on their web site.

That would be great of you!!!

Their website does have numerous photos of their other models, but only one of the NLU-01. Thanks for offering. Much appreciated.

I had no idea that they released this! I've been gaming the 4995HB since early last year and really enjoy it. Only gripe was the heavy amount offset but this one apparently has much less.. Wasn't looking to buy any new clubs going into Fall but that may have just changed!

But if it performs...

Regarding New Level in general, they make quality stuff from everything I’ve read. I will buy the 902 irons soon, can’t wait! They look sharp and I’ve always loved the milled look. Also, everybody seems to rate them very highly.
I wish they had a gap wedge, a 45* PW deserves one. I’d try their wedges, but my OCD forces me to buy a matching GW to fit in with my T20‘s.

The M Type Wedge 50* is awesome. Replaced a MD 4 and honestly, I’m looking forward to my 54 and 60 wearing out so I can replace them as well.

I really wanted to order one, but wanted to loft bumped 1 degree. The order wouldn't reflect it, and couldn't correct or cancel, so decided to go another route. Was currently gaming a U-65, and the U-85 went on sale, plus a 4 day family and friends additional sale. So I opted for that. Have played one round with it, and it's really good. Sort of a lateral move, but now have the U-65 for my back-up bag.

I paired the 902 with their Tri-Weight 50 degree wedge bent to 51 and it fits very well. The wedge looks beautiful and is nimble. I’ve got it dialed in with a 3/4 swing that carries exactly 100 yards and that is a very useful shot. I asked Eric which of his wedges was more forgiving and be recommended the Tri-Weight.

Hmm, I ordered the M Type in 50*, I liked the simple looks of it. My T20 aren’t exactly forgiving, either, so I guess it will work.

I’ve ordered the 902 with the PW at 46*, so 50* should be fine. I’ll have to find out if my 56/60 deg T20s will need to be bent weak. My current PW is at 47*.
