I have a similar set up with Callaway Mavrik.  Swing weight is d1.5.  Considering changing the 5G to 2G or 3G, which would make the swing weight D0.  Do you think this will result in better performance for the shaft?

No, a 2-3 gram weight change will not make any dynamic difference to the shaft. Mass does matter, but not in that small amount.

Golfwrx Instagram posted a shot of Adam Scott with an auto flex. Previously he tested a ventus red at 46" with a tsi4. It will be interesting to see if he becomes the first PGA tour player to use it in a tournament round. I know someone mentioned a LPGA player might have put it in play already.

Excited for Friday.  I've been playing around with all these different options and weights, jumping on a GCQuad and trying to figure everything out myself.  I'm heading into the Callaway Performance center in Carlsbad to try and figure everything out.  Going to try 2 different fittings.  I switched out my SIM adapter and put my old Epic Flash in so it will work with their new drivers.  I'm going to get fit for the Autoflex and see the stats with the right head/weight combo.  Then I'm going to go through as if I had nothing.  This way I can see once and for all is the Autoflex a better fit for me personally.

Is anyone aware of any club fitters or builders in the Chicago area who carry the Autoflex? Probably a long shot but wondering if there is somewhere to test it, or even get in touch with someone who would be able to help build a driver.

The Old Elm club in Chicago has some Autoflex shafts, I believe.

LPGA Sung-hyun Park and Inbee Park has them and are testing them out. Not sure if they are using them yet tho. Many KLPGA and KPGA pros are using them, including Haerim Kim.

How were Adam Scott’s distances and ball speed with it at the Farmers. Did they show any driver shots?

I watched both days and the only shots I saw were tee shots on par 3s and 2nd shots from the fairway.  Oh - and a lot of Brooks Koepka putting SMFH

I checked out the pga homepage and his highlights were mostly about putting and some shots around the green and pitching. Sigh...

I had nothing to do but watch as I was in the hospital.  Not one tee shot but they did show him warming up early in the morning on the range with a Trackman or something and he was looking at numbers with the driver and AF shaft.

I went in and got the fitting today and the results were pretty interesting.  It was the first time the fitter had seen one.  I had let him know I was going to want to try and get some options in with it to compare against so he did a bunch of research on the shaft ahead of time.  Here is a little of what we found out.  Ended up getting fit for the Epic Max LS in 8 degree.

Swing speed went up about 2-3% with the Autoflex

Ball speed went up about the same

Dispersion was much tighter circle with the Autoflex over the Mitsubishi MMT I was fit into.

Spin was a bit of a shocker...Mitsubishi was averaging 2400 consistently and the Autoflex was averaging 2950 (with a couple 2400 and a couple 3500).  I knew it felt like it spun more but I was a little shocked the same head and everything would be 600 more.

Carry distance was about 5 yards farther

total distance was 1 yard farther

Initially he said he was leaning towards the MMT since the numbers were more optimal.  But I liked the longer carry and the tighter dispersion as the course I play can require an accurate drive.  Not too mention my course doesn't get much roll anyways so flying a bunker is better than rolling one down some speed slot.  I went online and picked up a Green dot Callaway adapter as that can be lofted down 2 degrees so I can play the club at a 7 degree loft.  Before wrapping up we moved the weight towards the heel and that brought the spin down to about 2800.  I will see how the 7 degree head brings it down and the next step would be to put some lead tape at the front of the driver face to bring it down also.

All in all it solidified what I had noticed before.  I gained about 5 yards or so in the air, was hitting the ball more controlled, and didn't have to feel like I was swinging out of my shoes.  I also found with the impact tape that even though the club was longer I was still consisteently hitting the center of the face which is a good sign.  You can't get just the head so I ordered the MMT shaft as well (and got it +2") so I can play around with the added length.

I’m home and ok.  Thanks.

well it seems Adam hit the longest drive on 1 that they didn’t show but the 2 that they did show he mishit.  I don’t think it’s the shaft as after that long drive down the fairway one 1, he pulled his wedge from 140 for a bad bogie.  Now he’s got 2 pulls in a row with it.

Yeah, if he's got a case of the "pulls" today, that ain't on the shaft...

Well it seems as if he figured it out and the announcers said after hole 7 that he’s hitting it past Rahm by 15 yards on his good swings and not the pulls.

I have 5 rounds with my Sf505, I think it's going on the BST. It definitely goes further than my gamer, but I do lose it high right, wish it worked out better for my swing.

Good, 'cause he's right; $750 for a shaft with proprietary materials 🙄 and no patent is ridiculous. Aldila gonna come in a$225 😂

His club, ball speeds and carry distance are all above the peoples he’s been playing with.  His swing seems off, don’t know if it’s the shaft or him but he seems stuck and missing both ways.  Either a pull or push for the 2 way miss.  His iron striking is also not his best but again could be due to the driver shaft or his confidence.  Don’t know.
