U buy a number and hope for the best.

e.g. a game is set for 10/1 @ 20 meaning there are 10 spots, 1 winner, $20/spot

Once all the slots are filled, the game master or a moderator will go on random.org and generate a number from 1-10. Whichever hits is the winner.

There are different types of game to determine the winner (triple X-ur number has to hit 3 times, last one standing...), but same concept. 

 

For certain games where the item is of high value, the game master might consider having a mini (or sometimes 2 or 3) game to fill the spots for the main game.

The cost for each spot at the mini game is usually 1/2 of the main spot. 

e.g. main: 10/1 @ 100: 10 spots, 1 winner, $100 each spot

       mini 1: 10/5  @ 50: 10 spots, 5 winners will go to main, $50 each spot. U pay $50 for a 50% chance of getting a main spot instead of paying $100.

I just picked up a mele fw cover and I’m going to game everything I buy from now on. After flipping the fifteen 2.0, I’ve realized how I’m far more of a buyer than a seller. Now I’m just looking a driver headcover and perhaps another fw for this season.

This info was taken elsewhere, but for those wondering about COTM;

 

"CotM details will come out to public on Jan 1. Price is up $100 on last year, and if you are in a taxed state add another $100 this year too.

This year you cannot select driver or fairway. On those four releases you get either a driver, fairway, or hybrid cover now.

I reached out to them and asked if they could give any hints to the number being added but haven't got a response yet. I bet they add more mallet options since there weren't many last year. Not sure about blades"

I believe I’ve seen prices this year at $1,555.55 or in that neighborhood.
