Scotty Cameron 2021?

Just got my 5.5 yesterday here in Canada : preordered on March 5 / custom length and grip... hang in there guys - they’re coming!

Love the feel / alignment / distance control... definitely the most ‘blade feel’ mallet I had the chance to roll... and just made 48/50 4-6 footers (inside; no reading involved just to test pure roll mind you)... I know, I know - honeymoon... but where do I sign for the Tour?!

I just spoke to a Titleist rep. Orders in February are estimated to ship in May, orders in March are estimated to ship mid June and all orders in April are estimated to ship in July.

I was quoted April 28th a couple weeks ago but alas nothing arrived today. I’m thinking the projections you listed are going to end up being more accurate.

Put my X 5.5 in play yesterday...love it. Have come from an Odyssey 10 and Scotty FB1.5 T22 before that. The 5.5 has the perfect blend of feel and stability.

Just got an update that my Phantom X 5.5 (non-custom) that I ordered during the pre-order won’t be arriving until at least July 28th.

i ordered on release day march 26th and was told 4 weeks and than last week i was told another 3-4 weeks from roger dunns, figured whats stopping them from telling me that again 4 weeks from now so i just canceled the order and picked up a stock one on worldwide's website and looks like fedex will bring it to my door this monday 5/3...makes no sense at all...i'll just bend the loft and lie myself

I recently received the push cart seat I ordered 11 months ago. So things are looking up for you.

I have been procrastinating and haven’t ordered. Situation is discouraging.

Since I decided to give the 5.5 another try I found a LH stock model online over the weekend and it arrived today. I rolled it right along next to my current EXO Seven S model and I came away impressed. I canceled my original preorder after getting to roll one at GG on release day and I didn't really like it then but with orders rolling into July for these right now I decided to take advantage when I saw it online.

The neck and toe hang are very similar to my EXO Seven. The 5.5 seems to have a slight bit more toe hang. I may still switch out the grip on it to a Matador or maybe even a SuperStroke but I'm liking what I saw today rolling it on my crappy putting mat in my house. The Pistolero Plus grip fit in my hand tonight better than I thought it would. Not sure I like the grip long term but I'll give it a chance.

Nice putter, blue looks great.

Thanks I appreciate it. Yeah happy with the way it came out. Excited to roll it Thursday when I go play also with the added bit of head weight of 4 gram which is not too much but feeling wise feels quite a bit more sturdy on my stroke than with the stock regular 15 weights and not going over board by switching to the 20g weights. Blue also matches my color set up with my mizuno jpx900 forged irons.

Thought I’d be in love with the 5.5, but after demoing it it was clear it wouldn’t work. Tried the 11 on a whim...and so far, really getting along well with it. Surprised myself. Really solid, sits beautifully behind the ball, love the feel/sound. Haven’t noticed the high-pitched noise that some have commented on re: the 11.5.

I fully agree, had the 11.5 thought it felt tinny, went to the 5.5, could not make a putt, went back to the 11.5, and I love it. I guess I am in the big time minority, but love the look of the 11.5 over the 5.5, and I love the toe hang from a bent shaft vs the hosel.

Just got my custom 5.5 yesterday. Like it a lot although I don't think they got the weights right.

I asked for headweight at ~353 grams which should be 2x10 g weights (can anybody confirm that?) and it came with 2x15 g weights (maybe because I asked for 33.5 in length and that is the standard weight setup for 34 in putter).

Anyone know the tip size for the 5.5? Looking for a new shaft for it.

Yeah I think that but also I think maybe they put the 2x15 so it didn't affect the swing weight of the putter so much. But good question. You can always get the replacement weights but I think with this 5.5 model in particular IMO is better with a slightly heavier head feel. I also considered trimming my stock 34 down to 33.5 and he discouraged it knowing I like a bit of a heavier head and said if I trim it, it would throw off the swing weight and the putter head would feel pretty light and would in turn need to get heavier weights. But some people like a lighter feeling head, especially if they play fast greens as it gives a little more feedback.

I was wondering the same thing. I was considering the new KBS 1 step putter shaft or the CT Tour which I also had in my Spider X and they said tip wouldn't fit, but i'm not exactly sure what the 5.5 tip size is yet either.

My fitter customized my 5.5 the other day. Added a bit of weight (15->17g) behind the stock weights. Also changed my grip to SuperStroke Pistol GT 1.0

Bring on the birdie sauce! Haha

Happy to report the added 2 gram weights added behind my stock 15g weights really felt great yesterday out on the course. Glad I just had my fitter do this instead of buying the two 20g replacement weights. I feel like that would have made the head and swing weight much & too heavy for my preference and really take away the feel/touch/feedback and also might struggle with the distance control if had the 20g weights. I was 1 or 2 putting pretty much all day yesterday, maybe the honeymoon phase, or mental affect of the custom paint but I'll take it lol. Hit a big 18 foot left to right putt to save Par. Felt like I had a smoother putt and better distance control than before the change as well as my putts held their line better. Again maybe just a good day or mental, but felt more confident and finished 18 holes with only 31 total putts when i'm usually around 34-36 range.

Just received my 5.5 on Monday.  Honestly, I think it is going to fit very well into the rotation as my go to mallet.  The design frame's the ball well, looks great with clean lines and the toe hang compliments my stroke.  Their is a lot of confidence in knowing that I can comfortably stroke the putt and that the face is going back to square, similar to my other putters.  Anyone putting with a quarter hang anser style putter, should feel confident adding this as an alternative.  With the previous phantom .5's, I could not get comfortable with square-ing the face.  I might actually be done putter hoe-ing.

Sure you are....LOL!

All kidding aside, I find my confidence grows each time I game the Phantom X 5.5.  It's such a good looking head at address.  The shape is clean.  Alignment line on the topline is simple and effective.  And it rolls the ball as good or better than any face insert putter I have ever played.  My poor Newport is sitting in the corner of my office looking all sad and rejected.

It's. 395, the .390 stability shaft fits too. I currently have a stability tour on my 5.5.

I have the 11 and it’s taking a while to get used to it. The ball seems to come off the face pretty hot.

What does everyone think of the feel of these putters? I have a 5.5 and it seems very firm off the face. Not entirely what I was expecting!

I like the feel better than the previous years phantom line.  Slightly firmer with a better sound.  Not sure about the 11's sound and feel but I like the 5.5.  I was comparing the 5.5 with a 7.5, a cx-01 and a Special Select Flowback 5.5 and it it hit the right blend for me personally.  The CX-01 was mush, the Special Select was a rock and the 5.5 ended up in the bag and I haven't looked back.

Putted with my buddies 11.5 and it was so good. I need to be more face balanced and the 11 intrigues me. I’ll hold off until I do a putter fitting. Sure felt really good with a B X ball.
