To me these are better than the JT ones. I get that it's a Limited Edition, kind of made for JT special, but I absolutely hatedddd how much his name and initials were all over it. I think I counted their being at least 3 identifies for him on the head. Even the JT on the face was too much for me.

I have always enjoyed the look of the welded neck, but could not get past the JT over-branding..

Not much of a mallet guy but if these get discounted like the last Phantoms then I'll give the 5.5 a try.

Probably both I'm bored and want a putter. I keep going "I'm going to sell some putters and buy a custom" then 10min later "let's see what's on eBay".

33” - two 20g weights

34” - two 15g weights

35” - two 10g weights

Same for all models.

Man, it looks like the base (no weights) is at 330g. Totally expected. 
 

I was hoping it’d be in 280g like last year’s Special Select.

• Newport/Newport 2 weights
• Fastback/Squareback/Roundback weights

My understanding is that the models above use different types of weights.

Based on the pics I’d bet it’s the older, regular weights like the Futura 5W used.  I’d be surprised if they used the Squareback weights.

Not a mallet guy but the new phantom 5.5 looks AMAZING. Had a futura x5 and liked it but wasn’t the biggest fan of the “T” alignment aid in the flange

That is freaking heavy head... I am liking the Phantom X 11 look. I am in the market for mallet putter so might have to give this a chance although I am not a SC fan... Aesthetically very pleasing to look at which looks very stable and forgiving. 

 

If I do order, I might have to custom order at 350g head at 33"...

 

I hope custom weight order is possible???

You should be able to request them to put any of the "normal" lighter weights in (i.e. what they would be in a 35 in putter). I know when I special ordered a Special Select last year at 33.5 in I was able to request the lighter weights (that would normally go in a 34 in putter) even though they said by default they would give me the weights that go in a 33 in. 

 

Not sure you could go even lighter than that though. (i.e. if they have standard 5g weights they would give you if you wanted them).

They “should” be the standard weights.  Typically, the Fastback and some Squarebacks use the mallet kit.  Cameron is not really detailed on which kit fits which.

My JT uses the same weights as a Newport, as did the 5W both tour and non tour versions I have had, I am fairly confident this will have the usual style wide base weights.

Same here, I snagged it up thinking it would be the only way to get the toe hang in a solid steel face. Even sold a tour 5W because I justified saving so much money for the same putter. The branding is killing me now, specifically the signature. Looks like a wheaties box

Anyone have any idea how much toe hang the 5.5 has? I thought I saw something the other day saying it was minimal, but i cannot find it. Thinking about switching from an X5R, but I have more of a straight back, straight through stroke. I may switch anyways because I love the alignment line on the top line rather than the flange

I'm going to hazard a guess at it being aligned with the Flowback 5.5, in that it will have minimal hang. The neck itself is what lends to the minimal toe hang.

This will be my first Scotty purchase. Obviously I’m very excited, but had a question. Is it possible to order the club with custom colors or does if have to be bought, then sent back to the Cameron custom shop? It appears from what I’ve read that I must buy and then send in. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks in advance.

all come with same color

easy enough to customize afterwards though

 

The gallery does sell some "MOTO" putters, which are the OTR putters with different paint, grips etc

but beyond that, you're on your own
