If you HAD to go one brand, what's the one club you'd worry about?

I could probably play all Ping but have never really found many of their irons appealing. The woods I love, the wedges are solid, the putter would love if I can get access to a PLD putter, it's just irons. 

 

Now another option could be Cobra or Mizuno seeing as no putters (no LH Mizuno) means I can putt with whatever I want. Now if crazed gunman says the brand needs to have a putter then back to Ping or maybe TaylorMade, you know what the gunman will probably pull the trigger with me trying to decide.

I could go all PING in my bag with the exception of the putter. Never got along with PING putters as much as Bettinardi.

I could easily play all Callaway. What I’m reading Jeff didn’t say you didn’t get a pick the brand. I use Vokey wedges in my 50 and 56 wedges , no problem with a change though. But then again I suck at golf.

All Titleist = no problem

All TaylorMade = no problem

All Mizuno = would worry about putter

All Callaway = would worry about irons

All Ping = would worry about irons and wedges

Jeff .. have you tried the Glide 60 ES with some Wrx grinds ... heel, leading and trailing edge relief ?

If wasn’t confined to current model year product,  could make a set up out of most any major brand with relative ease.  The one club that would take a bit of thought would be the fairway wood slot.

Have not, maybe it would work for me but there was a sweet vokey in the pro shop and I had nothing working!

Ok, I’m pretty sure I’d be fine with the following brands as long as I can get fitted.

 

Titleist

Ping

Callaway

Srixon/Cleveland

Taylormade

Tour Edge (the putter would be the hardest though)

Wilson

Honma (completely unfamiliar with their putters though)

Mizuno

Ping, I’ve played driver/wedges so could get along with rest I’m sure

I think I'd choose Callaway across the board so that I could putt with an Odyssey.  I already use their irons and wedges and feel pretty sure I could find driver/fairways/hybrids to fill out the bag.  The ball would be a problem, as I don't like the Chrome Soft at all.  Haven't hit a Chrome Soft X.

Wilson has slowly invaded my bag throughout the year anyway. I play their fairways and now irons. Just haven't found the deal I want on wedges before I snag some of them too. 

 

That leaves driver and putter. I am 100% certain that I could find something to put with from the 100+ years Wilson has been making golf clubs, which means I only have to truly worry about driver.

 

I have the C300 amd D300 and although I like both of them, they just can't compete with my old R15, and I shudder to think how they'd go vs a SIM or Mavrik. I could live withe playing either of them, but I would know I was leaving yards on the table.

11 Titleist clubs and ball for me, but I just typically have not liked Vokey's. So wedges might be an issue for me. I am sure I could get used to them though.

I would choose PING.  The worrisome club would be the putter. 

 

That club is worrisome no matter the brand however.

If there was one brand, I would worry about, I guess it would be Cobra and the putter. They make do make putters, but only for starter sets.

Wedges... Very particular about how wedges look. 

 

So I'd be happy with Mizuno. Callaway and Titleist would be a small mission but not impossible. The rest of them I doubt it...

I don’t think I’d have any issue going with Titleist, ping, or TaylorMade.  Probably Callaway/odyssey would be fine as well.  If I went away from tm I would miss the spider x putter, but I’d get over it, and I suppose I could find a Scotty that would get the job done. Mostly, for an obsessive gear guy I guess I’m not that particular.

Putter.  I’d go all ping.   But I did hold a B60 with a paper thin topline last week that I believe could work.     I guess if we’re talking dream world I could get a thin  topline anser 2 with tungsten weights and a sight dot made.

Titleist/Acushnet and the biggest worry would be the driver.

 

Once upon a time they had things like the 975J & D which didn't really have an equal, now everyone has caught up and surpassed.

 

TS and TSi have closed the gap but it took a decade (The jury is still out as to whether they can match the Maverick or G410/425).

I’d go all TM but worry about putter (spiders aren’t great for me and their blades suck) or go all Ping and worry about the wedges
