Mitsubishi MMT 105 Iron Shafts

Does anyone have these shafts? Care to give any feedback on initial thoughts, performance, etc.?

I have Modus Tour 105 S, this may be a stupid assumption, but I didn't know if I should go up to an X or TX in the MMT's? Is a graphite 105g shaft softer than a steel 105g shaft? I have so many questions. haha

Thanks!!

I was wondering how the finish holds up on them. I might be putting these in my srixon 585/785 combo, a 921 combo or 921 forged to help my elbows.

I have the MMT 105S in a set of P760's. I came from Nippon Modus 120S and they seem to play very true to flex. The MMT's seem stiffer until you hit them and they are very smooth. I really only bought the set to try these shafts as they were a great deal. I can really go after them and they do not balloon like the Nippon's could at times. I hit a ton of balls and the MMT's help in reducing some of the stress to the body. I am looking to move to the P7MB's and only wish I could order these from TaylorMade instead of having to pull them apart. Great shafts.

I have the same questions.  Also coming from Modus 105s. Tough to find reviews if your driver SS is 100mph haha

I have a 100mph driver ss, and moved from modus to MMTs 105s exactly.

Haven’t looked back, and happy with the weight/flex. Finish is holding up really well, I’m a bit ocd and see a few nicks but nothing too serious and most would probably not notice.

Stiffness wise they were super similar to the modus. Maybe a bit stiffer, but same class and they perform great. I have nothing but good things to say, and boy do they feel soft.

I’ve got the mmt’s in wedges and driving iron as well.

I am coming from DG S300 and I will say that the shafts feel great. My only issue so far is that the short irons seem to spin too much for me. From my 8 iron down, I am a club shorter than with the S300.  I have only played one round and two range sessions, so I will let you know if it gets better.

I’m finding the same in a set of p770 with the 105s. My long and mid iron game has improved but my G,P and 9 have become inconsistent.

I am 100mph as well, but Modus 105-x in irons to help with tip deflection (left miss)....given the mmt105s appear to be a bit stiffer than the modus105-s,  should be perfect, no?

THIS is interesting to me, since I kinda felt the same in the modus 105 - inconsistent in the 9, P, G

could be the weight?

wonder if anyone else has an explanation or experience

I’m coming from recoil proto 110 so I’m not dropping much weight. What I’m finding is the mmt perform as good as anything else out there for me on full swings. I am having a hard time playing any flighted shots which I tend to do a lot with my wedges. For my next round I’m going to keep the 5-9 p770 with mmt in the bag but go back to my cobra mb with the recoil proto 110 in the gap and pitch to see if I notice a difference.

I came from modus 105s down to MMT 95s.

Very comparable except the feel is just smoother and I can get after with more ease.  I don’t see myself ever going back to steel...

I just swapped shafts from C-taper lite x flex to MMT 105tx soft stepped. This was after testing an MMT 105s straight in with my 7 iron. My swing speed with a 7 iron is between 88-90 mph right now. My tempo was a little too quick and spin/launch a little too high with the 105s, but dispersion was great and the shaft held up well. So far it seems like the 105tx ss is a better fit. Oddly enough, I feel a little more life in the 105tx soft stepped than I did the 105s straight in. I think if you focus on getting the right weight first, then soft step or hard step as needed...you'll really enjoy the MMT.

MMT play true to flex.  125 tx play a hair stiffer than my recoil proto 125 F5.  Better on joints and very smooth feel.  Mid launch and low spin for me.

Did you consider the 125 in the MMT?

I am coming from Steelfiber 110i stiff, and just got the P770 in Modus 120 (114g).  I want to go back to graphite, but am considering the options of MMT 105s (105g), 105tx (113g) soft stepped, or 125s (124g),

I'm curious to know if folks have more experience with the 105tx and how they might compare to a DG X100.  I play +1.5" on my irons but looking for a potential option to drop SW as my current Apex Pro '21 4iron came in at E0.5 and the 7iron at E3.

Also, curious to hear if hard-stepping the 105tx might make it play more like the X100 too.

-Thanks, Todd

They will play similar to DGX100 even without hard stepping them.  The 105TX might also spin a little less but they also swing weight a little heavier vs a 113g steel counterpart.  For me I have 125TX in irons but 105TX in my 3 iron/driving iron.  The 105TX launches a little higher with similar spin compared to the 125TX.

What weight MMT did you go? 105 or 125?

105. Spin seems to have normalized a bit, but I did take them out of my wedges.

For the guys who played Steelfiber 110 stiffs, would you recommend the 105 stiff 105tx soft stepped or 105tx?

I have very little mmt105 time but extensive SF110 time.....imo I'd ss the 105s 1x to match the 110 SF straight in.......your mileage may vary greatly but I'm tending to 105s is firmer than the 110

Again, I think your loading/release would dictate your final decision

I have an early release. Was thinking of doing 105tx ss twice. Think that would work? Wish they had a 110 gram stiff option. I might be a littler turned off on the 105 weight range because I had the modus 105 stiff and it didn’t work out well at all.

Ditto with the desired weight
