Well, the other putter forum seems to be gone forever, so I thought I would post here in WRX to see if other Byron fans have moved over like me.  If so, please enjoy these recent Byron Morgan acquisit

I miss PT!  I wasn't spending a lot of time there the last couple years but just knowing it was there when I wanted to do some research, especially on Byron Morgans, TP Mills, Lajosi's, MannKraft, Tad

These are my two.  I’d like another dh89 with a sight dot.

The 007 was one of my very favorite Byron putters, ever.  I still have my a** 007 Club Byron hanging on the wall.  Great to see a few new builds using those heads.

I'm with you LaMont. 7s and 6s are the best (and the occasional Rattler 😁).  Here's my stable of 007s now with these new ones.  Still looking for that elusive 711 though......

@fharbistthose are all stunners.

As for me I had a DH89 briefly. I loved the look but hated the sound so moved it for something I love right now. I would possibly get another DH89 but the 620 has been catching my eye lately and maybe that's what I'd get only if Byron gets some LH versions in and I have the spare cash to drop on one. But if I don't I'll always be a fan of his work and drool over what others post.

So I live about two hours west of Byron since he’s moved to Georgia and have gotten to know both Byron and Sally. Very nice folks and glad to call them friends. Made a trip over a couple days ago to play a little golf and bring home these two beauties. B17 is new to the stable and the designed by is a hand made I had acquired a couple years ago and put it on a 20 gram diet and a classic refinish. I had stripped the original finish and was going to do my on plum brown but didn’t realize it was carbon body and stainless neck. I’ll see if I can locate any pictures of the original finish.

From what I’ve heard, Doug has several new irons in the fire right now and maintaining PT wasn’t high on his priority list at the moment.

Would have been nice if he let someone take it over, it was a huge resource for information that's basically lost now.

Jmac, great B(ombora)-17.  Don't see that many of those any more.  I wonder how popular it's been for Byron since he rolled it out.  Have you enjoyed yours?  And it's also getting harder to find or see the other older models like DBCM (yours is pretty awesome), Channel Islands, even Epic Day.  I guess the vast majority of the market is NP1/DH89 styles these days....  Or the big modern mallets like the Spider

Keep the pictures coming folks.  Happy to let this be a "share your new Byron" post

Byron's 007 is more or less a "tweener" in terms of bumper rounding.  You have the Newport style (rounded bumpers) and the Newport 2 style (flat bumpers).  For Byron, the DH89 is the rounded bumper style (NP) and his 006 family is the flat bumper style (NP2).  The 007 and 711 have a more gradual bumper curvature and sit in that space in between.  Very unique putter as you can see from comments like Lamont's in this thread...

Tai treatment is an extensive edge rounding that softens the look of the putter.  It involves taking away all the hard edges (top, bottom, sides) as well as more extensive rounding on the bumpers, including potentially larger radiuses on the corners.  There's history on the naming of this, which unfortunately I don't know (but hopefully someone can chime in on).  I personally don't like the "full Tai treatment", but I've asked Byron multiple times to do a light "edging" on all surfaces as I equally don't like the super-crisp, sharp edges that can come from some of the milling on these putters.

FWIW.  Hope this helps

big help. Really appreciate the thoroughness of your response.  I guess my next question would be difference between 007 and 711....? They look very similar on the website.

I believe it's the cavity. General shape is the same but the 007 has a milled out cavity where the 711 is solid.

I'm not sure either head is available anymore though. I thought I remembered them being retired but could be wrong. I do see some 007s on his IG from the past few months, but when you try to order on his website that model isn't listed.

VNutz is correct.  Byron made "no pocket" versions of all three major styles - the 611, 711, and DH11.  Best Byron putters IMO because they have the thinnest top lines, although it's all personal taste.

All these old models are discontinued as mentioned (007, all the x11s, and others).  But when Byron moved to Georgia a year or so ago, he found a box of 007 heads and that's what you saw on IG, FB, etc.  I reference these at the top of this thread and have bought now 2 of these heads.  They are carbon and "no-neck" (Byron will put on whatever neck you want), with slightly favorable pricing.  I bought my second back in November and am not sure if he has any left...

I have a 620 currently in the build phase. Super excited to get it and love seeing more of these. Can someone give me a quick breakdown of the DH89 vs 009? That's the style I'm planning on adding next.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
