Here are the two Byron Morgan putters that I currently own (DH89 GSS and Epic Day CU plated.  I have owned several more but have moved them to homes where they will be used.  The Epic Day is my gamer and has been since I received it September 2014.

That epic day is my favorite!  Everyone loves the 89 and all the similar shapes to the 89, and all for good reason.  They are absolutely beautiful.  But the epic day is just a special shape that truly looks and feels handmade.

I’m working on doing a b17 with Byron at the moment that he will shape it to look like the epic day.  It will truly be a handmade piece.  Just trying to figure out all the tiny details.

That will be a sight to see when it's done.  You need to post pics of the completed project.

I wondered why Doug revamped PT not that long before he let it go?  It had tons of good information over there, shame it is gone.

PutterTalk was an outstanding site, with an outstanding membership.  I agree with a lot of great information and pictures of great putters.  I really miss the site.

So I live about two hours west of Byron since he’s moved to Georgia and have gotten to know both Byron and Sally. Very nice folks and glad to call them friends. Made a trip over a couple days ago to play a little golf and bring home these two beauties. B17 is new to the stable and the designed by is a hand made I had acquired a couple years ago and put it on a 20 gram diet and a classic refinish. I had stripped the original finish and was going to do my on plum brown but didn’t realize it was carbon body and stainless neck. I’ll see if I can locate any pictures of the original finish.

Sweet flatsticks. Byron moved to Georgia? How did I miss this. Is his shop in Georgia now too?

I have a 620 currently in the build phase. Super excited to get it and love seeing more of these. Can someone give me a quick breakdown of the DH89 vs 009? That's the style I'm planning on adding next.

The 009 and DH-89 are identical. The rumor mill says that Scotty Cameron stole/borrowed the CNC code for the DH-89 to make the 009. I have no idea if that's true. But I can say they are identical and I've owned both.

DH89, 007, 612, and Epic Day are all in my collection. Easily my favorite putters. They all get a fair share of action but something keeps pulling me back to my 612.

That’s a much more simple explanation than I was expecting, thank you!

TSi3 19* / Ventus Black HB 10tx

SM8 46, 50 / Dynamic Gold X7

SM8 54, 58 / Dynamic Gold TI X100

Champion’s Choice / MC X-Firm
620 / MC X-Firm

I’ve heard that as well but I always thought the timeline was a bit confusing. The DH89 came out in 2009. The 009 was out in 2005 or around that, 4 years earlier. How would Cameron get ahold of the CNC design of Byron’s DH89 4 years before it came out?

The DH89 in 2009 was the 20th anniversary edition of Byron's original Dale Head 89 putter......

Yes I know that. The designs while similar, are not identical though.

The 009 hardly looks like an exact copy of Byron’s original Dale Head.

Can anyone say if the circle HB models of Byron putters have any difference in quality, materials used, specs, etc.? Or is it simply a spoof on the circle T?

I don't know whether the Circle HB is a take or spoof of the Circle T or not.  I have this stamp on the sole of my Epic Day putter because I liked it.  That was of course when Byron was based in Huntington Beach.  Now I will have to do a Circle G (Georgia) now that he's Georgia based.  Had I seen this post I would have asked him today since we spoke on the phone for about an hour.  😄

No difference in quality or materials - just a stamp you could request.

Is his shop in Georgia on the East Coast now? Where in Georgia? I had no idea. Last time I ordered something was about a year ago I thought and I thought I called HB.

Byron now lives about 25-30 north of Marietta.

Had that made back in 2015 - was my 10th wedding anniversary gift from my wife.  I wanted something unique, so I asked Byron to do the Circle HB stamp as the "O" in BYRON.  And the Tai dots were pretty cool as well.  I like the way they rise up to the site dot on the rolled topline.

Are you still gaming that putter?  I had two putters built in 2014.  I still game the Epic Day he made for me that summer.
