App or website question for golf groups, what are you using?

Recommended Posts

We have about 2-3 dozen guys some with very limited technology knowledge. Our group want to use a web based site/app or portal to post "in or "out" tee time acknowledgements on Monday, Tuesday, wednesday and thursday. The ability to see which one of us is playing (committing) on these days would be a must.

A private group with password or permissions by the members ( not public)

The abilty to edit by everyone would also be a must.

The abiltity to add pictures, post links, commentary, announcements would also be desirable

Ideally the app or website would allow both android or apple phones to access and of course PCs/laptops,ipads etc.

Does any such program come to mind? someone mention facebook group. Our club is of no help whats so ever. So we are on our own.

BlueGolf website and app has a group function. You can add everyone to the group (it's private, so you have to manually add people via email address and it can't be found by the public). Then you can set up individual rounds and people can add themselves to the rounds or withdraw. And it does have a place to upload pictures if I'm not mistaken.

My favorite feature: during the round, everyone can put their scores in via the app, and see a live leaderboard across the group

BAND (band.us) is the droid you're looking for. I now use (spearheaded) it's use in two leagues I help with and it's the best communication out there for groups. I heard about it's use through my niece last year for her HS sports teams. Allows everything you're looking for (including platform agnostic, has iphone/android apps, and can get to it through a computer). It's essentially a teams based social media application. And yes, both leagues we have are private. Must be invited to them to see what's going on. Both are spreadhseet leagues, so we just publish the results either as an excel file or PDF every week.

If you need any help, I'll be happy to walk you through.
