Wisconsin Bach Trip - May 2021 - Advice Needed

Evening Gents - looking for feedback on a bach party plan we are putting together for yours truly in Wisconsin.  Would early May be realistic for the following:

 

• Wednesday - Late Afternoon @ Erin Hills
• Thursday - Sand Valley (arrive Wednesday evening) mid morning and Sand Box afternoon
• Friday - Mammoth Dunes then head to Kohler
• Saturday - Whistling
• Sunday - Black Wolf

 

Any suggestion?  We really aren't much for playing 36 in a day, all pretty old man for 30 years old.  

 

Any input appreciated.

Solid schedule.  The month of May can give you more moods than a teenager, but you've got a great line up of courses and plenty of travel time to not beat yourself up.

Yeah, great lineup, but weather is going to be a coin toss. Could be in the 70s, or the 40s. During the first full week of May this year in Sheboygan the lows were in the 30's, and the highs ranged from 44 to 72 degrees F.

I'm guessing the later you get into May the safer it gets?

Late May is still iffy, but it should be better than early May. This past May it was in the mid-80's the last week of the month.

Good lineup.

 

Late afternoon at Erin Hills might be tough to finish before dark depending on how you define late. It's a long course so it can take a while to play depending on who's in front of you.

 

Grow some testicles and play 36 on at least two days. 😄

Am I the only one who read the thread title and puzzled over combining golf with chamber music?

If you're from the upper midwest and used to the weather playing golf when its in the 40's in May won't feel all that bad.  I have a 16 guy Ryder Cup style tournament every year in MN and we play the weekend before Mother's Day.  There have been some cold mornings, but you're a month or two removed from -40's so it could be worse.

Just be prepared for the cold in case it happens.

That is a great plan.  You'll enjoy it.  If you like classic courses you may consider adding Lawsonia Links to your itinerary.  It's one of my favorites in the country.  Cheers

Lawsonia is certainly worth playing if you are looking for something else or something isn't available.

I am going to probably go against the grain here.. Don't go out of your way for Lawsonia or replace anything at Sand Valley or Kohler with it. There are 4 absolute must plays in WI - Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, Whistling Straits, and Erin Hills. After that it is a toss up, but if you are already at Kohler you might as well make it easy and play blackwolf run.

I would be remiss if I did not suggest The Bull.  I think it is a fantastic course.
