Hi all,

I recently got a r7 superquad driver, used, and the previous owner (who I do not know) put a white paint fill on the crown. It has also been reshafted. I was wondering if there is a way to tell if it is the regular or tp version. Also any reviews or comments on this drive are appreciated 👍

I enjoyed it back in the day.

M Superquad TP had the old school TM TP symbol out on the toe with the crossed flags. Loved that.

The shaft's paint scheme matched the club, no matter which shaft model you went with. TM made all their shafts look the same back then. Aftermarket or stock. I always thought it a bit odd? So thinking if its all original, should be kinda black/red/yellow shaft colorations as I recall? I think the TP shafts had the TP symbol too, but can't recall for sure? Headcover was TP version as well.

Yeah you’re right, unfortunately it was reshafted so I cannot tell.

The TP badge on the toe should be there if its a TP then. Trying to recall if the COG locations were different between regular and TP, or if just mainly the shaft upgrade also got you that TP badge on the toe. Been a while... was a fun head. Hosel diameter on all TP's was .335" and regular versions were often .350" back then.

as others said, if it wasnt painted over--would be the tp badge on toe---also if you eyeball it and its neutral or open faced.

If the stock shaft has been changed and the head refinished the only way to verify which version is to pull the shaft.  The TP version was .335" tip and the non-TP .350".

I still have the Superquad TP 1st Edition. It came with a Fuji Rombax  Re Ax TP shaft , which I quickly replaced  with a Fuji Rombax 6XO7. I tipped the stock shaft 1/2" and I stuck it in the R7 TP 3 wood....

I also owned a R7 Tour issue Superquad TP 282 head. One of my friends bought the non TP model thinking he was getting the same thing...Not even close...In my hands it sounded/ felt dead....was draw biased,  launched higher ,was spinny, and 20 yards shorter than the 1st Edition TP and 30 yards short of the Superquad 282.

My R7 bag was kept it intact when it was retired to my collection of full bags of " best evers ".

Driver : 9.5° R7 Superquad TP 1st Edition

3wd : 15° R7 TP

Hybrid: 19° Exotics CB 2

Irons:3-PW(48° PW) JDM R7 Forged

Wedges: rac TP 52° and 57°

I am suddenly having Re-Ax TP shaft flashbacks!!! EEK!  I have no idea what was with that shaft, and how I was fit into it, but it was not for me at ALL. That got pulled on my TP too. Mine supposedly sat one degree open and had the sticker on the head built on the TM tour van while I watched, but looked so closed to my eye for some reason. Loved the old all-titanium soft TM feel. Having good memories now. Ok...all is good. Find my binky...
