Callaway Pre-Owned Club Condition Ratings

I have heard great things about buying clubs from Callaway Pre-Owned. That includes how nice the clubs are that are given a "Like New" or "Very Good" condition rating, but what about the clubs, specifically irons, that have a "Good" or "Average" condition rating... what are they like?

I ordered my dad a average epic flash a few months ago and it had a few paint chips but no sky marks

Have made a couple of purchases from CPO, both clubs were rated as "Good". Was pleasantly surprised, both were easily in "Very Good" condition.

I have not ordered 5 wedges through CPO, all very good condition. The first three were awesome, two in wrapper and the third looked like it had only been hit a couple of times.

 

The two I got yesterday were a bit of a letdown. Tons of chatter marks and a couple dings. Def not what I had gotten in the past.

If you feel like what you received doesn't match the condition listed, give them a call and explain what you are seeing.  They have always been quick to exchange or give a discount that is fair for what was received.  If not satisfied they will let you return for refund.  Easy to deal with.

The only time I have been kind of disappointed was when ordering an "average" club, but I am the one who chose the cheapest category.  I think the average category probably has the biggest variation in condition too, since it is the catch-all for clubs that are perfectly playable but cosmetically may not be great.

 

I am sure there are situations where people get some that are not up to expectations, but I have probably ordered 15 clubs from CPO in the past and have generally been happy.  And as said above, the customer service is generally quite good.

Ordered my Ping G425 irons in “average” condition, the only set available then. I was pleasantly surprised to find them in a very good condition with new grips. 4i was almost new which is now my new favorite. Also ordered Apex Pro 21 3 hybrid with Ventus VeloCore in “average” condition just for the shaft but the club itself is in a very good condition. Positive experience so far.

Only positive experiences for my.  Never had a condition issue, but any issue I ever had was resolved quickly.  Dealing with them is risk free.

From my experience “average” is a bit of a crapshoot. “Good” or higher typically are slightly better than expectations

Stick with mike new or very good. Some of the wedges I ordered in like new had never been hit. 
 

olus as others have said, their customer service is awesome. If you don’t like it, return is for free. It’s really the best deal out there. It’s a no risk transaction.

I've purchased 4 times and had to return 3.  Have only ordered like new and outlet condition.  They did take care of refunds, but I had to call/email for shipping charges to be refunded.  I won't order from them again.
