I got a sleeve of each the new Pro V1 and the Pro V1x today. I tested them each on a Trackman and below will be my results as best I can tell you.  I tested them against the old Pro V1 (not the old X)

I bought the new ProV1 today.  Here is my review.  Walking up to the register the box of the new ProVs felt softer than last years box.  Strolling to my car, the new ProVs moved back and forth in the

Well it took about 20 years to increase from $40/dozen to $50/dozen. So a best guess would be they'll hit $75/dozen along about the year 2070 and $100/dozen some time in the early 22nd century.

I just received a box of Pro V1's today. Is there a way to tell if they are the 2020 or 2021 version?

Yes pretty easy - the boxes are different and the alignment stamp is different. Also FYI there is no 2020 Pro V1 (it came out in 2019 and is sold for two years)

I was able to jump on a Trackman last night and do some comparison testing with a 7 iron.  I watched the 2nd Swing video and found my results to be similar.  Both balls had the same total distance but got there by different means (apologies for not capturing specific data averages below - I do remember my average ball speed was around 125mph):

  • V1 - lower flight, less spin, more roll out
  • V1x - higher flight, more spin, less roll out

For me I found the roll out to be about a 3 yard difference between the balls.  I'm going to give the V1x a try for the next round or two.

Were you hitting into a net, or letting the ball complete it's flight?

One of the big differences with this years balls is a whole new dimple pattern, and you're really only going to be able to test that if the ball completes it's flight.

Ball speed is clearly up with the x compared to the v, but the additional spin limits the total distance so it seems to even out.  Ultimately, if you want to spin the ball less go v, more go x.

lol..I got two dozen of the new ProVs and I can't wait to take them out this weekend.  I have been a Clear LS player for the last 6 months.  The Clears have been the best ball I have played.  I am excited to see how the new ProVs compare.

Was the wind just a zepher or was it really blowing?

So you feel the '21 V1X spins more than Tour B X? I am def intrigued and looking forward to try. If it is as long as Tour B X off the tee it could be the new ball. But I LOVE the Tour B X, so if it is better than that......

If you love the Tour B X you need to try the ProV1x left dash..I’ve played both balls and they are very close in performance..but I prefer the Titliest.

I played my first round with the new 21 ProV1 today in Dallas.  Windy day high around 70.  I am a 9.0HI who in the summer plays closer to a 7.  I consider myself a high spin player.

I am not sure I am sold on the new ProV1.  My perception is that it spins a whole lot less that the 19ProV1.  Especially on the wedge shots.  I agree with toddmanley's review about the V having less spin and more roll out.  I like when my ball drops and stops.  I got more roll out with the new ProV than I like.

Clear golf balls are still the best I have played but the price point will always have me searching for something else.

I can’t remember the exact launch of the Bridgestone but it was in my launch window. The Titliest left dash and the ‘19 ProV1x have similar launch windows.

I found left dash to feel like a top flite. Also not near as much spin inside 100yds. Crazy how balls perform and feel different for different players.

I just played my first round with the new pro v1x and the results are quite shocking to be honest,  as I dont expect any major diff or gains on ball updates.

but gladly to report i was wrong.  Prov1x is equally long as the left dash but with superb short game control.  It has been a good while i had this much fun and excitement testing a new ball.  Also had a great round overall (+1),  so it didnt take my any time to adjust to this new model.

i will be buying a regular 21 prov dozen soon,  to see which one holds as my preferred.  My main problem is that i have over 10 dozen of premium balls in my golf stock and now i just want to play these new pro v1x,  is that amazingly good.

These indoor numbers are fine for initial launch. But we are not going know how they really land and roll out until we know how the dimple patterns use that speed/spin.

I hate how all the tests do 80 yard wedges. All the pro balls check then. What about 30 yards from the green? Launch/land and spin really matter there.

I bought a dozen yesterday and played with them today. They didn't really impress me. They didn't suck but they didn't do anything different than the last version. To me, they felt like an AVX but with more spin. The cover held up nice though. I'll play these and try the X's to see if they're better. Overall, don't think they made any progress with the new ball. Not sure how much more they can do to improve the old model anyway. Just my thoughts.

Well, very simply Titleist came out with their TV commericial on how there ball was centered 11 months ago.

Titleist TV Commercial, 'Your Golf Ball' - Bing video

Now Callaway is answering the bell with thier marketing commericial.

The bottom line is none of us will really ever know when we tee it up if Pro Vs, CS, TP5s, etc are centered unless we cut it open and then we can't use it anyway.  I guess you can do the saltwater test, but...

Yes, but if we are going by chance of getting an off-center ball, your chances are far more likely with a Callaway than a Titleist

Spent the weekend with the ball... two rounds. Have to agree.  Maybe because I got used to the 2019 Pro V1x, but the new ball doesn't feel right.  Has the marshmallow feel I didn't like in the Chrome soft.

I am really torn, I want to like this ball because I cannot find the enhanced. alignment 2019s, but now I am thinking of just stocking up on 2019s.   Will give it Thursday, Saturday and Sunday before I make final decision.

Oh, then I think I am going to like the 2021 version. That was my only compliant on the 2019 Pro V1x was that it was a little to firm for my liking but it performed for my game so I just learned to deal with it.  We shall see.  Anyone know of an online shop where I can order a sleeve of each of the 2021 versions?

Finally had a day off today and put a sleeve of the '21 Pro-V1 into play this afternoon. I'm a high speed/high launch/high spin player and I usually game the Bridgestone Tour BX. I don't know if it was my delivery today or what, but the V1 launches HIGH off the driver. Higher than anything I've ever played - Wilson Duo U, Tour BX, TP5X, potentially even a wiffle ball into the wind. The wedge and putter feel was maybe the best I've ever felt, and the cover is insanely strong - not a single scuff or nick on it after 18 holes and lots of full wedge shots.  We've had a lot of rain here in the Monterey area lately so I realize that the roll will be on the low side, but there was literally none off of any driver today. That being said, I did feel like my carry numbers were about the same, if not a few further, than my Tour BX, but until we have some dry fairways, I won't know how this ball truly rolls off the tee, but so far, it doesn't seem like it will. I may have to try a left dash because if ever there was a ball that could combine the BX long club launch and the V1 short game feel, it'd be a lifer, no questions asked.

The verdict - For being a premium, lower launching, lower spinning ball, whatever it is about the '21 does the exact opposite for me off of my driver and woods. It's hard for me to complain about carrying a ball around the 280 mark all day but when you lose the roll completely and find yourself embedded every other hole, it's a bit of a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. Tying this all together, the iron and wedge play is among the best, if not THE best I've ever played and that alone may be the deciding factor in the new V1 being my gamer, but I'll have to wait until my courses dry out to make that final call.

Just for fun and in the name of fair testing, I did put my Tour BX into play on the last 3 holes and found that the launch off of the driver did come down rather significantly, and even though the ball may have made a dent where it landed in the fairway, it never once plugged. However, I do much prefer the iron and wedge play of the new V1. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.

TL;DR -
Driver/wood flight and spin is EXTREMELY high in my case, my only complaint here.
Long iron feel and spin is great, inspires lots of confidence to fire at flags that you probably shouldn't fire at.
Short iron and wedge spin and feel is exactly as you'd expect from a Pro-V1, very glad that those aspects haven't changed.
Pitch/chip shots hold up just as expected with great feedback. Workable enough to hit those little choppers and spinny enough to hit flop shots from the same lie.
Putter feel is perfect, literally the best I've ever felt.

Just got my box in today - one dozen yellows. Dimple pattern definitely looks different at first glance, ball feels softer / stickier by hand. I do like the light brown / golden chrome internal packaging, it's a nice change from previous years. I do wish Titleist would have a "less packaging" option, it seems like a waste of paper and resources to print really nice sleeves that will immediately go into the trash. Maybe next year.

Looking forward to putting these into play on Wednesday.
