A few pics of the 2021 3.5 LS that i received today.   It's my first Sun Mountain so unfortunately I can't compare to the previous model.   I'll be using it as my carry bag instead of lugging around my 30yr old leather cart bag.

Thanks for the pics. The site says 9 pockets but I count 7. What 2 am I missing?

 

1. Full length

2. Valuables pocket (top of full length)

3. Range finder pocket/sleeve

4. Ball pocket

5. Tee pocket

6. Water bottle pocket/sleeve

7. Pocket by the water bottle pocket

I am having trouble seeing the bag in the picture as it blends into the background.....

 

 

I kid, looks like a nice and sturdy (camouflage) bag.

There are 2 of the 'pocket by the water bottle pocket' (one on either side of the bag), not sure where the 9th pocket is though

I think they're counting the pocket for pen/pencils.  It's the only thing I could find.

Is there an internal pocket in the apparel pocket like the Hoofer Lite and Nike Sport Lite?  That pocket is clutch and you'd think Sun Mtn would catch on.

It appears Sun Mountain has moved away from the fluffy padding on the straps.  Shame, that is one thing I really like on mine.

Unfortunately, no.  The only thing visible there is the soft liner for the cell phone pocket.  The apparel pocket is a generous size though.   (Pic attached)

Yeah, that was literally the first thing I noticed.  I half considered buying the prior version just for that added comfort.   The pads on the new version feel fine but will see how it goes on Friday when I play a round.

I can't tell there is another zip pocket on the other side from the stock pics. Can see the range finder sleeve.

 

@Jsk0307 thanks for all the pics. Is there another pocket on the side of the large pocket that we can't see?

If you're referring to the large apparel pocket,  there's a smaller zipped pocket near the 3.5 logo.   It's lined with a microfiber or fleece like material.

I had that in my list originally. So if I add pencil pocket, i think we're still missing one.

There are 2 non-zippered 'sleeve' pockets on either side of the large ball pocket.

I'm assuming this pocket inside the ball pocket is for tees.  It has an elastic band to help keep it closed.   Wish Sun Mountain provided a diagram.   😆

That's the 9th pocket then, I wouldn't have a use for that pocket though.  If that pocket was moved to the interior of the apparel pocket it would be a great place for wallet and keys.  Hoofer Lite has that and I really like it.

@Jsk0307 Thanks for the pics! Nice bag. If it’s not too much trouble can you please let us know if the long apparel pocket on the side gets stuck “under” the legs when you pick it up. I’ve owned the last 3 versions of the 3.5LS and that’s been an issue for me with every one. Otherwise, I’ve loved the bag. Thanks!

I might look into it.   Right now I have the Taylormade Sim covers and they don't look too bad.

I took it out for a round today and didn't notice it.   But I also have the apparel pocket empty and wasn't paying much attention to it the legs.   I'll check it when I get out again tomorrow.

I'd guess that's  good sign. I feel like if it's empty it would have more tendency to tuck under? Just my guess

Definitely. That was my experience. If I filled that pocket it would pull it away from the body of the bag and I’d only have the problem now and again. When empty, it got stuck every time. I like the pocket empty to keep it light for carrying.

Would like to know about the pocket sticking in the legs as well.  No local stores have the bag to check out in person.

I kept an eye on it today and didn't have a problem with the pocket and legs.  But I can see what you guys are referring to.   There is definitely enough material there for it to happen.   But so far my experience has been that the legs push the pocket aside as they retract to their position.  Definitely something that I will watch for.
