IDK man I think it's a setup. 

These TM driver release threads have been the same for a few years now.. a ton of predictions followed by extremely vague info about looks and performance from reps and fitters, and a few photos like the one I saw on here that in my opinion looks like someone took from a PowerPoint of the product presentation. The photos get taken down every time because Taylormade owns the copyrights of those images and the moderators come on and say the photos will be removed and cannot be posted until Taylormade says the embargo is lifted. I checked this forum at least 1000 times before I saw a peek.

Taylormade is just like every other company out there, they have a schedule of when they want to release new product and they try to stick to it. Fortunately for them there are a few golf forums that start threads about the future driver release 6 months prior to create hype. @TaylorMade Golf made a comment about how business was going great in the P7MC/P770 thread.

 

It very well could be a setup to create hype.... but idk it seems like many of the big manufacturers are this way and some are way different like the first peek for some companies is the USGA conforming photo and thats public knowledge. 

 

Look I'm excited about new golf equipment too... especially this driver, but I just got my SIM driver as a warranty replacement for an M5 and have barely been able to get out and enjoy it. 

 

Btw those questions are more of the detective/criminal investigators job....

you dont wanna buy it or are getting turned off bc you dont get early access viewing??? lol relax people. Whether you see the pics now or see them in January it will all be the same

Yep.... ive only preordered twice but found both times I got my driver a few days early before store releases

It would be 1 thing if there wasn't a 16 page topic on the SIM 2.0 and it was just speculation - but there is, and there are already a boatload of people that have seen it & commenting on it, and TaylorMade is suppressing the pictures so that others (who are equally interested and curious) can't see it.  The cat's out of the bag.  If you can't understand why that would piss off the people that haven't seen it, I don't know what to tell you. You don't have to agree, but the frustration should be understandable at a minimum. Mind blowing that people aren't getting this and giving TM a pass.

I just dont think getting pissed off about not being able to see something you cant even buy yet as a valid reason to be upset. its not going to change or have any influence in my life whatsoever.....and lets be real, TaylorMade did not start this speculation page, members at GolfWRX did. TM isn't doing anything that they haven't always done and theyre not doing anything different than every other OEM. I've already seen the new Epic line but Callaway is keeping those under wraps as well

Callaway had IG users remove their pictures as well but seems like they get a pass and TaylorMade does not.

But it's also counterproductive when there are MANY people on this thread that feel that way and have expressed that in this thread - and people (like you and others) are brushing it off, and giving TaylorMade a pass.  Why?  Let us express our displeasure and stop trying to invalidate the frustration of others. It's literally the definition of counterproductivity.  Part of the reason I'm not on GolfWRX as much as I used to be - can we all express our opinions about certain topics without people trying to invalidate our opinions on those topics?  I respect that people want to come to the defense of TaylorMade and other OEMs, or try to explain the situation, but the OEMs need to hear the negative as much as the positive. Might not be their fault it was leaked (or maybe it is), but the suppression is 100% on them.

exactly. TaylorMade is always more polarizing bc their claims and marketing from over 10 years ago that people still seem to hold on to for whatever reason. TM still gets joke made about them coming out with a new driver every 3 months yet every OEM has been putting out 3 driver models each year lately

 

I will say that its stupid that OEM's want the leaked images of new product removed, but it certainly does not bother me one bit to cry about it

On a positive note, I’m looking forward to this and the Titleist TSi4 (provided that’s going to be released next year).  I’ve had TaylorMade drivers for the last 15 years except for a 3 year stint with a couple of Callaway drivers.

From what i've been told it's basically the SIM but the weight thing on the bottom isn't as pronounced, probably changed the shape a bit to change the cut bias the originals had. My buddy that works in a shop still more impressed by TSI3 than the new SIM.
