Taylormade SIM 2.0

TRC723

Sounds like based on what people have seen, it's more of a Callaway SZ weight system vs Ping/Titleist with a moveable weight piece in the back... But def seems like the color scheme has a lot of people disappointed haha. I guess we'll find out in a few months. It'll be tough to beat the current SIM line, the new Ping G425 slated for early 2021, and newly released Titleist TSi lineup.

Yea, the weights in the Regular and 'D' are static. Weight is center on the regular and extreme heel in the 'D'. Odd generic looking weight that honestly looks like an afterthought. Weight on the Max seems like it can be flipped to be heel side of center or heel. Weight in the back is larger and more visible. Neither of these look like they'd come with a weight kit(how cool was that with the R7 TP). I'm sure there will be knockoffs in the aftermarket even though they are oddly shaped.

Given how extremely small(and arguably worthless) the weights in the M5 and Sim were it's not surprising TM would give up the gimmick and save the weight it takes for the track and focus it elsewhere.

Thanks for the info! I don't know that I would go as far as to say "worthless" though, especially with the M5. It had the second largest adjustment range behind the G410, and a pair of 10g weights is a lot to be able to move around. I agree it wasn't as useful in the SIM though.

Please come back February 1 for actual information, and all of your questions will be answered.  Pictures and shaft options too!  Even then there will be a few pages about TM’s shaft tipping policy.

Who cares about pics of this new driver? Lol  I want real dirt on this shaft tipping policy as I think I’ve been the most vocal on this board since the original m1 430 came out. By the way I also figured out more or less that Wilson tips their shafts too in the driver.

Ageist? Lol. Nobody asked you to come comment on a prerelease thread and be such a buzzkill. If you don’t want to know info don’t come to the Tour and PRERELEASE forum

Yes, ageist.  It is derogatory.  I am under 40, and cringe that people use that term to belittle people who have a different opinion or view on a topic.

I love the tour and pre-release forum.  Pages of “send pics” posts of an embargoed photo is not new information that adds to the pre-release threads  I am here for actual photos (already seen them), and details.  I am only a buzzkill if you think “send pics” comments actually are good for the forum.  We may have different opinions on this topic, and that is okay.

This driver has a 17 m series vibe. Basically not going to improve on a very solid original offering. I'm a huge advocate of sliding weight tech. I'm surprised they didn't find a way to move the adjustable weight to the back and keep that tech available. This is the first release in a really long time that doesnt have heel/toe adjustability. I played 16m2 for close to 3 years. I see the same happening with sim. I really like that driver.

I also love my sim. With the adjustable weight halfway between the middle and toe it has been great for maintaining loft and neutralizing my slight toe strikes. But I will definitely give the new offerings a shot, oh gotta go, my sim is looking over at me giving me the stink eye!

I think this is true, but when properly fitted, like TXG level fitted.

Rory had his best driving EVER with the M5, it's a shame he can't switch back to it even if he wanted..

And so did Koepka, he still returns to his M5 after testing something new.

I loved my M5, dare I say even more than my 16 M2. I hit my longest drives with the M5 after figuring out the settings with the weights to the rear and lowering loft, it was an absolute cannon. I just got the SIM though and havent really put it through much other than 2 range days.
