I’m glad you brought that up. Has anyone seen pictures of the 2022 SIM 3? My aunt’s 3rd cousin knows a guy that has viewed the CAD drawings. He said the colors are terrible, it has too much offset, is too upright, is too flat, the shaft is both too long and too short, no Endo forging, no turbulators, no ATI face, no inertia is being generated anywhere, is not made of wood, and sounds awful. I’m sticking with my club because I’m a purist, I hate everything. Oh, and by the way - everyone that disagrees with me is both stupid and ignorant.

 

on a serious note - thanks for playing along with us here, @TaylorMade Golf and looking forward to seeing what the team is bringing out.

We’ve got pics.....we’ve got teasers...now we need to know about this customization talk and the new tech.  I keep coming back to Wunder saying he’s excited about this driver.  I’ve said it before but he and Ian Fraser are the guys I “trust” the most with reviews.  They seem to be pretty immune to hype and really look at comparative data and performance vs the oohs and ahhs.

Interesting to see both DJ and Morikawa in the SIM2 Max to start the year.  DJ not so much of a surprise but Morikawa was in the SIM all last year as DJ went back and forth

Can’t wait to see how it performs! Just bought a SIM Max D this week because I got a great price on it, but no problem flipping it if the SIM 2 is significantly better!

It could be them just testing them. Dj had a speeder in one pic and ventus in another. Or it could just be a photo shoot lol

In Taylormades photos they posted you can tell it had a ventus. Curious to see if it stays in this time

Pretty sure that was just for the photo shoot. If you look at practice round pics for the Sentry TOC, it looks like Collin has a 10.5 SIM2 (non-max) in play

For what it’s worth, the Fully Equipped podcast this morning was talking about their club testing days and they saw fade bias in the SIM2 throughout many different testers.

No surprise. TM has been fade biased since at least the M line. There was no indication that they changed that when the pics came out. Also why i wonder if they'll offer weight kits to toy with CoG. The front and back weights are on opposite sides of the center line so CoG adjustability is still there, just not as easy. Want to offset fade bias...put a heavier weight in the front heel port...

Hello all.

 

If at all possible, I was wondering if any of the  "knowledgeable ones" could answer a question about the weights in the SIM2? For the ability to adjust SW in my current SIM I was able to change the sliding weight with an aftermarket M5 weight to get the SW to where I wanted. And with my SIM fairway, was able to change the small weight as the pitch/thread was compatible to what's out there in the aftermarket. Noticing that the SIM2 (driver & FW) has a SIMilar looking weight in the head (sorry).

Wanted to know if it is the same type of weight (length,pitch/thread) of what is in the SIM Fairway? I don't have access to a tour van and I enjoy building my own clubs and have my own SW scale. My only option has been the aftermarket as I like a heavier feeling driver - D6/7 and fairway - D5/6.

 

Not sure if it's been discussed and I know for a fact that I'm going to bag them.... the HO in me is strong and has no boundaries =( Just trying to prep for the tinkering that is to come.

whatever the shape and specs of the new weights are, rest assured you can buy one on eBay for about $10 in 6-8 weeks after the driver is officially released. The aftermarket ones are virtually identically and fit perfectly. It never fails!

I don't doubt that at all! In fact, that's where all my weights come from currently for my SIMs. But I'm hoping to be one of the first on my block gaming the SIM2 so I'd hate to have to lead tape it or tip weight it for 6-8 weeks until the aftermarket responds. 

 

But the pic mrmikeac just posted is music to my earrss...er....eyes! Have 3 or 4 of these weights already so now I'm even more stoked! Cocked, locked and ready to rock!

2 direct quotes off the TaylorMade Tour Article just released that a lot of you will like to hear - both in reference to Collin Morikawa's switch to Sim2Max Driver and Sim2 Rocket 3...
