Taylormade SIM 2.0

Am I understanding correctly that the only difference in the SIM and the Max is that one has a 16g and the other 24g weight in the back and the Max has an 8% larger face...?

And the Sim2 Max front weight is more into the heel.

If it follows the same pattern as the original SIM and the front weights are any indication, the SIM will be slightly fade biased and the MAX will be more neutral, or perhaps slightly draw biased. The MAX also may have more neutral/closed face angles on average and a slightly more upright lie angle.

Just checked the TMAG website. Consistent as always in offering a rubbish range of shafts

Yea this is the part I am most disappointed about. Looking at the Tsi it is unbelievable the shaft offerings compared to SIM2, and is why I'll be going that direction most likely.

TXG slightly lukewarm? Ian really liked Sim so I think he might be slightly disappointed that they changed the formula.

Hard to improve on the SIM, I know that it gave my G410+ a serious run for replacing it in the bag, but the only areas it lacked was spin consistency and stability. It had the patented TaylorMade occasional bomb out of nowhere and normal drives were on par with the G410+.

If they made those 2 fixes, which seems to be so from the TXG video, I could see the SIM2.0 making a lot of bags.

Why in the world is the “made for” AV whites a 250 upcharge??

To be fair I don't think the AV whites are made for this year but honestly idk. If neither titleist or TM are using made for AV whites then that is a huge loss for TM to not have that no up charge. Probably the shaft I am most interested in.

Maybe someone who knows better can chime in on made for/real deal with the Tsi and SIM2 Tensei RAW AV Whites.

I’ve always liked the white/grey sliver on the crown starting since the M1 but the ability to go an all black crown I think will be very popular.

This has an "R1" feel to it. Granted it may be the perfect driver for me. I soooo wanted to play the Sim last year and tried multiple heads and never could get the consistency with the driver. It was certainly longer than anything on good strikes but my mishits were all over the planet. This seems to be going back to the future and with stability comes more spin and less difference between TM and any other manufacturers.

I would say, this "feels" like that's true, but from the TXG video they were able to keep all things the same (including great distance the ball speeds were basically the same) while adding a little more consistency in spin and stability.

I know for me that was I could never game SIM, I would get one farther than anything else, and then the next wouldn't produce enough spin to stay airborne. A very finicky driver almost in similar to the SLDR, but in a different way entirely.

If you match up with it I imagine it's probably a special one in your list of all time drivers.

Peter finch’s review was interesting. Seems to have lost some of the fade biased, and the spin jumped around at times.. but it seems hot for sure. It would have to be a home-run to get me out of my SIM, and its a solid double. Probably will fit people that the previous sim wasnt a good fit for.

I think we might be looking at a year where the two best drivers of previous releases (SIM and 410LST) basically remained stagnant or potentially a small step backward, and allowed the field to essentially catch them or maybe even pass them in the case of the Epic LS. I will 10000% go test all of these new releases but early signs have me super disappointed in TM’s and Ping’s release. Per my usual, if I go test and find out SIM2 dominates the gamer and is worth the coin, I’ll happily quote this post and eat crow.
