What do you tm guys think about twist face tech?  Does it actually make a difference? I was set to pull the trigger on a ping g425 but won a sim2 in a raffle.  Can't pick it up or even try one at the minute due to lockdown. My typical miss is left following a toe strike

Speaking of touch-ups TM needs to fix their specs on the Custom portal for the upcharge Diamana ZF weight and torque #s for the 60 gram as they don’t align with the specs on the MCA website . It makes it look like you are paying $300 for a “ made for”. I didn’t bother to look at the 70 gram, maybe it is incorrect too.

Yes, it works. It's not going to make a 20 yard correction in shot shape, but it could mean the difference between a ball that goes into the rough and one that stays in the first cut or fairway.

 

A left miss from a toe side strike is exactly the type of impact Twist Face is designed to help. The toe is slightly more open to start the ball more right and there's a touch more loft to keep the ball in the air and not have it nose dive left.

Most OEM have cut torque specs now posted vs a raw shaft on the OEM shaft sites.

I think its one of those technologies that might work depending on your swing tendencies. For me it has helped, a toe miss which is my miss holds its line down the right hand side, I have been very impressed with how impressive my miss hits have been with the SIM, not just out of the toe, its been by far the most impressive and consistent driver I have ever owned 

 

But yes I will try the SIM 2!

It works exactly how it’s supposed to. I thought it was a joke but it does work how it’s supposed to. Problem for me was I hit toe pushes and necky pulls so...

Was out and about and stopped at golf mart today. Tried the sim 2.0 max as I want a driver that’s not low spin and more forgiveness than the drivers I have now. I like the blue so that is a plus for me. The sound and feel are really good. I prefer it over my SIM. Even in the stores both it was muted but not dead. I’ll sell off some gear and get one ordered here shortly. Can’t judge numbers as I was fitting a sore shoulder and back. One thing I will say is I have been hitting low bullets lately and it cured that issue.

Confirmed with TM that 2/19 is the ship date for the release. They had no idea what GG would be referring to...

I got to hit the SIM2 outside at a Trackman Range site. I'm not usually a Taylormade driver guy, (although I really liked my R7 limited) but this driver was impressive for me. I currently play a EPIC SZ with an Aldila RIP Alpha, and hit the SIM2 with the Tensei AV Raw Blue shaft. Definitely a different shaft than the RIP. Not sure how much was related to the shaft or the head, but this driver was very hot for me. I'll have to sort that out in a fitting. But SIM2 with a 9* head has a slightly higher launch angle, and with similar ball speeds travelling consistently longer. Trackman Range doesn't measure spin, but I didn't see huge differences in ball flight that would lead me to believe spin was considerably different. I play the EPIC SZ at 10*.

 

I wasn't thinking about a driver change this year, but I may have to re-evaluate that.

 

I wasn't sure I'd like the head at address, as it is a little busy for me. I typically like the more classic black heads, but this was surprisingly acceptable for me. I, for one, am glad to see the elimination of the weight slider. Never have been a fan of that look.

Last year my Sim order shipped about 7-10 days before the actual release and “expected ship date”. Id bet we might start seeing some order go out late this week.

Agreed - My TM MG2 wedges showed up on the date Dicks said it would ship, without having the "track order" page updated. I had the clubs in my office and the status on the site still said "Preparing for shipment". Arrival date in hand was 8/27/20 when official release date was 9/4/20 I believe.

I guess it depends on when you ordered, but I ordered the morning of release because I caught the Velocore no upcharge before it was out on the net hoping I would sneak the deal in. I called last week to cancel or change my order and they said TM said I couldn't because it was in the build stage.

Received my 5 wood on Saturday at GG. Driver still waiting but sales rep said I'd probably see it a few days before the 19th.

I was able to modify the order the day after I placed it.  I asked them to not tip the shaft (1” soft tip) The sent an email 24hrs later confirming that they passed that along to TM

 

I checked in with TM a few days ago and they said my order was in the “build stage”

194.5G give or take a gram or two without adapter.

Yep. Mine was 195. Added some hot melt to get it to 198 and it increased ball speed and improved sound.

As I knew i would I built a custom 10.5 SIM 2, Murdered out with Red accents.  A classic Throwback to the R9 series.

My ship date was march 2nd, just ordered it yesterday.

My shipped sailed in! M5 cracked and had it sent back;  taylormade is sending a SIM2 as the replacement!

I think it's worth giving @TaylorMade Golf props for their customer service in regards to replacing equipment. Obviously it's not ideal to have people breaking product in normal use, but I give TM a lot of credit for being so willing to stand behind their products and replace them when they break.

 

They recently replaced my SIM after the inner speed-foam mechanism broke. Sadly I was a little too early to get the SIM2 replacement but I'm so happy with the SIM and how its performed for me over the past year that I'm not the least bit bothered. I'll gladly play it another year and then continue to give TM my business in the future if they keep pumping out high performing drivers that fit my game!
