Tested both drives and couldn't stand the SIm2Max. Face felt like mush on impact. Ball speed was lower off face and spin was higher for me as well. The Sim2 gave me the best numbers and was so easy to look at at address. Ordered that day. I love Ping woods and have played them in my driver, 3 wood, and hybrid since the G30. Swapped the driver and 3 wood out this year for the Sim2 at 9* with the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70, Sim2 Ti at 15* with the Tensei AV Raw Blue 75, and the G425 3 hybrid at 19* with the Tensei CK Pro Orange 80. That 425 hybrid is absolutely ridic.

I really wanted to like my G410 but I hated my shaft. So instead of doing the smart thing and replacing that I figured why the hell not order a whole new custom sim 2 max. Didn’t think it would take 6 weeks

though. Been teeing off with my g425 hybrid. Great club btw with the tensei orange shaft.

FWIW, I ordered a 2 driver, 3W, and 5W on 02/06 and I'm still waiting. I ordered from a golf shop and don't have any info outside of the quoted 3-4 weeks with Friday being week 4. The only silver lining is that there's still snow on the ground here in NY.

Just got word that the fairways have shipped. No news on the big stick though.

My Sim 2 Max 9* with Ventus Black 7s shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow. After some fittings, I have decided to stick with my Ping. I'll be returning it unless someone on here wants it for what I paid plus shipping. I did get the free Ventus deal. Feel free to PM me.

Received my SIM2 today.  Was quoted 2/3 weeks for Custom build, arrived exactly 14 days after ordering.

 

Ordered 8* with Stiff Tensei Raw Blue +1/2" longer.

 

Still can't use it till 29th when lockdown in England (allegedly) ends and I've not swung a club for 2 months due to same....but the Club feels very heavy to me.

 

I noticed the plastic wrapping on the head had a small opening  where the sole weight screw is, so not sure if that's been altered to try and change SW based on the additional length, or just co-incidental?

 

I hadn't seen the SIM2 in hand before today - I love it - it looks more like an upgrade to the M5 rather than SIM, which is perfect for me, as I was not keen on the shape of the OG SIM.

 

Club seems to sit super Square to maybe a fraction open to my eye, and also visually looks less lofted that my Tour Issue 8* M5 (Actual 7.9) so it's checking all boxes for me.

 

I also ordered the 3 Wood last night, can anyone confirm if this is also more like M5 than SIM? I know it's slightly smaller than OG SIM, but can't see any direct comparisons.

Mine is somewhere, probably fell off the back of a truck.  Taylormade doesn’t know where it is (nor do they seem to give a crap), FedEx doesn’t know where it is and I’m about done with it all.  My last few interactions with Taylormade CS has been pretty poor, not what I experienced in the past.

I ordered mine on launch day (1/19) with the Ventus Black 7X and mine FINALLY shows it's on its way. Hoping I don't receive the Max head! 🥴

I got mine almost 2 weeks ago.  The head was 196 grams raw and I had JustinD add 4 grams of hotmelt to get it playing D5 with the Ventus Black 7x at 45 inches.  Mine is 8 degrees as well.  Your club feels heavy because standard sw for the SIM 2 is D5.  As for it looking more like the M5, I agree.  Mine sits pretty square.  Not noticing it closed or open.  I have the OG SIM as well and the SIM 2 looks looks just a hair shorter from face to back end.   My drives are low bullets that seems to launch 2-3 degrees lower than my OG SIM to the naked eye which would put me at 11 to 12 degrees launch.  I haven't had time to get on trackman yet but will post numbers when I get the chance.

Ordered on 1/22 from GG. Sim2 Max 9' Ventus Black 6X - Have kept in contract with GG support and the most recent update is it will ship 3/6. According to them they ran out of the stock grip and TM refused to change the order because it was "in-progress". I can deal with a delay but overall this process puts a pretty sour taste in my mouth for both TM and GG due to their terrible communication

Lead tape? Put some on my M6 because the SW was C8 from factory (shaft length - 1”)

I'm sure you don't wanna add weight to the grip area. That's the only way to offset that.

Or find a heavier grip. 2 grams to head is one swingweight but I think you need 5 grams added to butt end to change it. So 5 grams of additional weight on grip end would make it a d5 and so on

The rear weight is removable, I'm sure there will be OEM and aftermarket options at some point.

 

Mine was D6 as well with the RDX blue 70X, I just chopped off .75", now it's a bit too light. Hot melt time!

 

Initial range report was very very good, it's pretty much the love child of the original sim and sim max. More launch/spin than the sim with a  deeper face, but no draw bias of the max.

ordered Sim2 Ti 3 wood?  I remember the guys at TXG saying it was smaller than the Sim OG but not as small as the M5.  Sim 2 Ti is 170cc and the OG is 180cc

I was one that received a Max head.  GG did right by me tho.  They said when they sent the order to TM's P.O system it changed it from Sim to Sim Max automatically...basically a weird cpu miscommunication issue.  

If that happens to you, you may be able to trade it for the right one like i did...just may take a little longer.

Sorry, yes the SIM2 Ti. Yeah I've seen re the -10CC's was wondering about shape in general i.e. where has the 10CC gone from?

After testing out the Max2 driver and 3 wood last night, I decided to stay with the original. I loved the original driver so it was no surprise but the numbers were pretty close. Same with the 3 wood, just wasnt going to beat out the one that I had.

Of course, just as I posted yesterday mine is on it's way, it "disappeared" from the tracking system with FedEx! Who knows when I will get it now!

Mine was supposed to deliver yesterday. Now fed ex just says PENDING

Can you share some insight on your process of exchange? did you send back to GG through Fedex/UPS or take it into a brick and mortar for a swap on site?

 

You have clear support for justification with the wrong head being delivered, where I'm just hoping to swap Sim2Max for Sim2 head based on seeing better numbers in a fitting after the fact (mine is still in the wrapper). I've heard others mention they did it before but I'm still not clear on best approach. Thanks.

Some good news bad news for you. Mine shipped out on 02/18 and was picked up and then "pending" until 3/1 where it showed up in Minneapolis and was delivered that same day. Hopefully yours wont be pending as long as mine was! I guess the good news here is that mine was delivered same day as it actually started moving.

Glad you got it sorted out! It is strange that the PO system changes it to a Max automatically but it definitely did the same on my build sheet.  So even though I got what I ordered because it was a Sim 8*, it's easy to see how the computer mishap leads to people getting a Max instead of the regular when the lofts are the same.

That might be the route I go, I've played a 45" driver for years but went back to 45.5" this year.  If I take just under 1/2" off I should be pretty close to D4.  These heads are like Thor's hammer!  I would think TM would eventually offer weight kits with how heavy these heads are, D5 stock SW is crazy!

My head is weighing in at 190. Seems lighter than most, but SW feels super heavy, shaft is at 46.25", but still....very heavy on the waggle...
