I've heard from usually pretty reputable source that the next driver will be more of a departure from SIM vs SIM Gen 2, if that makes any sense.

Titleist TSR2 - TPT Nitro 16lo
Taylormade SIM Ti 3w - Tensei 1k Black 85tx
Taylormade SIM Ti 5w - Fujikura Ventus Black 9x

Cobra Tec Hybrid 2 - Kai'li 90tx

Cobra Tec Hybrid 4 - Aldila Tour Black 105tx
Srixon ZX5/ZX& Mkii 5-PW - Project X 6.5

Callaway Jaws Raw 50s, 54s, 58z - BGT ZNE 130

Putter - LAB something or another

It makes no sense, lol. SIM might be their best they have ever made.

So they're supposed to just sit around and do nothing? Remember, these decisions don't happen in the course of a few months. Whatever's coming next has been in the product pipeline and in development for a couple of years. Whether it's a departure from SIM or a gen2, this has been on their roadmap for a while.

I didnt say that. Im saying its SO good i dont know HOW they could make it better. If they do then hats off.  I mean if they want to make a line geared towards a different golfer, like the callaway b21 or something ok fine, but the SIM has such a good reputation right now, to move away from that name/branding seems unnecessary.

sometimes messing around with something works can take you backwards.. like making a “deep face” sim. It not being deep faced is part of what makes it so good in my opinion. you make it deep faced and you raise the cg and increase spin

Just my 2 cents:

I think it will be hard to make the SIM any better than it already is. If I had to guess, TM will keep production of the SIM line until 2022 and this upcoming release will be a new line to sit next to the SIM line. Callaway has been doing it for years and I wouldn’t be surprised if TM follows suit.

A few months ago, I was hearing "speedline" was going to be a thing again, so who knows.

Adams Golf has been very active on IG lately...

But I have no idea so take it with a grain of salt

One thing I have been informed of: Taylormade is bringing back the Yes! (C Groove) putter lineup

I could see a SIM with different looks and sound, maybe that appeals to a few people who didnt like this SIM. Find a way to get rid of the “whistle”. Lol.

Hard to imagine how it gets better than SIM, thing is an absolute cannon and sneaky forgiving for the spin numbers it's able to keep down as well.. it's the perfect combo

Bingo! I like where there heads are in the performance and design standpoint. I would not expect this new model to be light years ahead, so if you like your SIM it will not be outdated in 2021.

Oh man!  If TM brings back Adams - that would be amazing.  Lower priced, deeper faced low spin driver..  DO IT!!!!

I highly doubt they move away from SIM. I can see SIM gen 2 being what the '17 M line was to '16 M line.

Inertia generator moves a touch deeper. SIM front track offers 2 weights. Slight change to the color scheme.

It wouldn't surprise me if they moved away from injected face hardened goop stuff.

This is true. They do an ‘every other year evolution vs revolution’ cycle road map.

The Sim is an evolution of the M5. Next release will be the Revolution of some new tech.

Think iPhone. It’s not any different.
